Has anyone else used an auction service to flog notes/coin?
A certain numismatics purveyor who trades out of Sydney and Melbourne and boasts about how much their total sale were at their auction, charges a buyers premium of 16.5%, plus a seller commission of minimum 10% plus GST. Then they hold the funds for 6 weeks in their own description, obviously earn interest. before issuing reward. On my calculation, they draw from paid over 25% of the worth of the auction. Given their last auction grossed $5M, that give them well over $1M, and they hold 4 auctions per year. I know everyone have a right to earn a living, but this seems impressively very greedy to me.Answers: I agree near you. Why should they keep that much of your money? I would look for other ways. Even if you hold to sell it for smaller number than you might get at their auction you could still come out ahead. Good luck

They can make much bigger profits using cheap labor and cheap services. They don't care going on for quality and they attain low shipping rates.
