USPS Mail - Handling procedure for getting someone else's post?
From time to time, the U.S. Postal Service would deliver a neighbor's mail to my house by twist of fate. Most of the times, the mail would belong to a neighbor close by so I would a short time ago walk it or drive it to their house. Just just this minute, I received someone else's mail beside an entirely different zip code! I only just circled the delivery address and put it final into the mailbox.The carrier picked it up, but I'm not sure if I followed the right procedure. Anyone know the "correct" procedure to follow when you procure someone else's mail?
Answers: That's find.. IF it have a barcode you can even cross it off so it won't come put money on to you again.
I'm a carrier and I own seend people write their adress, circle the other address, date it, write a 30 word data on it and then drop it within a collection box. Then they get it rear because the barcode is still there.

What you are doing is fine. You do not have need of to redeliver a missaent. You can simply put it back contained by your box marked as you ahve be doing. I would also recommend marking out the barcode. It could be a simple missent, but it could also be "Loop Mail". The address isn't yours, but the barcode applied is your address.
