Read up a short time on it, it is reall interesting when you know how it works.

You could limit the available presents depending on the pro of the order (bigger command = bigger present).
I think you existing customers own shown you loyalty be recommending a friend so i would reward them. Either money stale next purchase or they can guard up their referrals and receive money or vouchers
You could proposal a discount on a first order or a free DVD near either any purchase or a minimum amount for the initial purchase to tentative customers. You could also offer a point system for referral which may be redeemed for products. Instead of a point system, you could volunteer them a free DVD either for respectively referral that purchases or several referrals who purchase.
