ACCOUNTING interview +++++++++++?

Question:
12/31/X3
Total assets = $750,000
Total liabilities = $300,000

12/31/X2
Total assets = $520,000
Total liability = $200,000

There were no stock transactions contained by 20X3 and thus the change within stockholders' equity for 20X3 was due to network income and dividends. If dividends were $30,000, how much be the net income for 20X3?

The answer is $160,000... but I hold no idea how the book get to that answer...

Someone help me please. Thank you.

Answer:
The stock equity be 450,000 for 20X3 and 320,000 for 20X2. So the difference is 130,000. The dividend will reduce the the stockholder's quity and network income increase it. So the net income must be 160,000.

20X2 stockholder's equity + network income of 20X3 - dividend 20X3=20X3 stockholder's equity

Replace these terms beside numbers, you get:
320,000+net income of 20X3 - 30,000=450,000

So the network income of 20X3 is 160,000.
why don't you pay a honest cpa a few bucks and let them do it for you..I can't know why people want to do their own taxes, do you know how copious tax imperative changes near are each year??? the accountants are lucky to maintain up with them
Assets = Liabilities + Owners' Equity
Ending Owners Equity = Beginning Owners Equity + Net Income to Common Shareholders - Dividends +/- Other Stock Transactions

Beginning Owners' Equity = $320k ($520k assets - $200k liability in X2).
Net Income = "X"
Dividends = $30k
Ending Owners' Equity = $450k ($750k assets - $300k liabilties within X3).
Other Stock Transactions = $0 (as defined by question)

$320k + X - $30k + 0 = $450k
X = $450k - $320k + $30k
X = $160k
Dividend is the return you pay out to the stockholders, thus it terminate your net income contained by the statement of retained earnings.
Given surrounded by the question, the dividend is $30,000 and the closing be a foil for in retained returns for the year is $130,000, thus the statement of the retained earnings should be
Net income = $x
smaller quantity dividend = $30,000
------------------------------...
retained earnings for the year = $130,000

There you can find the total network income before the estimate of dividend which is 130,000 + 30,000 = $160,000

Answer:
Electrified Dancer I am not sure where you are located (I looked at your profile and that did not present it away.) Yes you can download MYOB free from their web site. You involve to ensure you are on the MYOB site relevant for your country, so it works with your toll system.

I have included both the Australian & the American site below - possibly they are relevant.

MYOB is a software programe through which you create datafiles.

You have unlimited use of the MYOB software program. You however singular have 90 days trial to use the notes file that you created. You can create the datafile, work on it and convert it to a compensated copy, after 90 days.

SNEAKY TIP - change your system date to (e.g.) one year surrounded by advance, and consequently create the data wallet. I have see this allow you an extended period near which to use the datafile. The catch here is if you do payroll, you inevitability to pay for the due tables, every time they metamorphose (here in Australia it seem to be every year on the first of July)

Hope that helps ...

Heather
myob website - you achieve 90 days free use before have to purchase - quicken also allows free downloads but has a less important free use time - just a document on these programmes - they are based on database programmes but i don't know why but they dumb down adjectives the options for reporting, no sort leeway etc - if you are going to be a world beater write your own database template.

Can i money my mortgage bill beside a match verbs to a Credit Card?

Question:
I know you can transfer balance from credit card to credit card but can you transfer balance from bills such as mortgage, utilities, phone, etc...?

Answer:
Yes, depends on your credit card company. But dont get duped by their first few mths not anything interest promotion. please watch out for the credit cards processing levy that you have to reimburse upfront. Sometimes it costs more than the mortgages' interest.
I would suppose that it depends on your credit card company. I have one of my credit cards thru assets one and they routinely send me 'checks' to use as valid checks and you can write them to whomever you want to.
Please be careful just about doing this however because some of those checks are considered the same as a change advance and as such, your fees will be greater than the regular APR that you are used to paying.
Also, if you are looking to do this for 'points' be sure to make sure that the 'balance transfers' will qualify!

How much is copper a pound?

Question:

Answer:
Current spot price (12/7/2006) is $3.08/pound if you are selling,
and $3.09/pound if you are buying (bid vs ask).
Often the prices you hear on the radio are futures, 3 to 6 months out, and they are a few cents higher.
See Kitco website for spot prices.
Scrap copper is quoted as a discount from the COMEX copper futures price, depending on the echelon of scrap.
"Bare bright" is 10 cents lower.
"Burnt wire" is 25 cents lower.
"No. 2 Birch/Cliff " is 40 cents lower.
And so on.
Foreign and domestic market have slightly different prices.

Note US pennies since 1982 are not copper, of late copper plated zinc. But if you have a bunch of 1981 and more rapidly pennies, 146 of them make a pound, so their copper is worth in the order of twice their face effectiveness.
tooooo toooo much
Check the stock market.
It is agency up, just close to other metals. That is why people are stealing it.
fragment copper is around ,betwween 1.50 and 3.00 a pound

Par significance / souk Price of Bond?

Question:
May I know is it that the Par value/ Face value of bond other @ 1000? would it be possible in other amount such as 1042, 1142?

How something like Market price? would it be equal to Face Value?

Answer:
A Bond is simply an IOU issued by a Company (or Bank, or Government).

It has a Value, a Rate of Interest (on that value) and (usually) a Redemption date. These are set when it is issued.

In suggestion each Bond could be any amount, however Bonds are usually Traded on the Stock Exchange surrounded by set amounts. So it makes like mad of sense to issue Bonds in the amount the Stock Exchange trades on :-)

Market Price is NEVER equal to Face Value EXCEPT when it is out of time (i.e. Redemption date is reached).

It works close to this - say I proffer you a Bond value lb1,000 rate of Interest 5% redemption date 2010...

How much would you repay for it ? Did you say lb1000 ?

That's really unstinting - I might be Bankrupt before the expiration of this year (and never have to pay envelope the Interest) - or I might be Bankrupt before 2010 (& never hold to pay put money on the 'principle' (the lb1000 face value)).

Plainly the high my Credit Rating, the more likely I will foot the Interest when it is due and pay adjectives lb1,000 back when explicitly due too.

OK - say I sold you the Bond for lb900 & you settle on you want the cash put a bet on early. So you grant it for sale to the subsequent person - but within the meanwhile Interest Rates have gone up to 8% ... so first I am more possible to go bust & second I'm single paying 5% on the Bond (not a good deal) - so probability are you will only attain (say) lb700 for it ..

But what if Interst rates drop to 2% ? Well I still have to payment you 5% on the Bond - but I am a less potential to go bust .(since the cost of my other borrowings will hold gone down) ... so the Bond may now be worth lb1001 !

The daylight before the Bond is due to be Redeemed, it will be worth lb1000 (assuming you believe I can actully reward out tomorrow :-) )
The market plus depends on the interest rate. Bond prices move inverse to interest rates. If interest rates rise, bonds go down and vice versa.

Your 1/4d or quarter penny or more commonly called the farthing is in actual fact quite adjectives and according to coin catalog, in average circulated it's worth around $0.15-$0.25, and nicer ones for partly a dollar, while a mint state specimen at $1.50. But in truth, it's not worth what the book says and it's available within most coin dealer's mixed world coins bin for a quarter or less respectively. And yes, it's definitely worth keeping not for its pro, but because it's the last farthing coin of South Africa to depict Queen Elizabeth II, the ending series of coins from the Union of South Africa, and the last series of pre-decimal coins of South Africa.
