Most places that work near proprietary information, if its theirs or a customers, have an member of staff agreement that has a clause nearly the use of company or customer information. A confidentiality or non-disclosure clause. This would also refer to the phone and email communication. Even if it went through a personal email address, it could be traced backbone to the sender.
Most places have a policy concerning the use of company property or personal property on company time. If its something like a company laptop, the policy may be that no aaplications that aren't work related can be installed. Or if its email, if its on their device the emails belong to them and should only be work related. Personal cell phones, most places don't want hand addressing personal issues on company time, but address them on personal time. Company owned cell phones should be for company business.
If everybody know what expected of them, these policies seem generous to the employee and the employer. The hand has the vital tools to perform their opening and and the employer has set the ground rules concerning property and information.

There is no right to privacy. Employers monitor cell phone calls and email endeavours all of the time. They hold a right to do it. Example: a co-worker of mine once gave a toll free cell phone number to a relative. The relative called and run up over $500 in cellular phone charges, in one month, next to the co-worker. They didn't think near was a toll on those long distance call!
Companies should take every official measure to protect it's business. It would not be possible to catalogue all.

I have found top brand electrical items from China selling on Ebay for a fraction of the cost they are selling at from UK base sellers. People come across to be wary of purchasing commodities from far overseas. There are MASSIVE counterfeiting operations surrounded by that part of the world - especially CHINA. I would NEVER buy anything from China ( and I've be on eBay for 5 years now). They counterfeit EVERYTHING - Razors, DVDs, software, knives, lenses.etc.
Also the contract you suggest sounds very dodgy. Just because the item you get was "excellent" doesn't propose it wasn't counterfeit.
It is not so simple. You will have to bring involved with introduction procedures and it can be quite a complex process but don't be put sour just do your research and variety sure you know what you are doing. I can't understand why you would dispatch the profits to the seller within China. Simply agree a price with them and any profit you create is yours.
You will probably have to insist on the UK buyer that the item is imported from China, as for customs etc. unless they check your parcel it is unlikely that you will be tax.
If the importer sends the goods to your home address it could be considered a offering and not investigated further.
First if the goods are branded, check whether they are not counterfeit. If they are see if you can go them unbranded, if they are so cheap and such good standard, why not, as long as you do not pass them for the 'real' article?
Then check any import taxes and introduction restrictions.
Then check whether your goods are VAT liable within the UK (most likely) and keep your VAT affairs surrounded by order.
