Can I really trade my dollars within for gold ingots bullion?

Question:

Answer:
One of the long-standing myths about modern currency is that it is back by the U.S. gold supply surrounded by Fort Knox. That is, you can trade your greenback dollars to the U.S. government for the equivalent amount of gold ingots bullion at any time.
At one point, this was true of most rag currencies in the world. However, the U.S. took away the affairs of state backing of the dollar near an actual gold supply (known as departure the gold standard) contained by 1971, and every major international currency have followed suit.

The obvious query is, "Without gold, what does guarantee the expediency of our money?" The answer is: nothing at adjectives.

The only grounds a dollar, or a franc, or a Euro has any convenience is because we have a stable system within which people are agreed to accept these pieces of serious newspaper in return for something advisable. Or, as Nobel Prize-winning economist Milton Friedman puts it, "the pieces of green paper own value because everybody think they have expediency."
It has be many years since that could be done. Not any more. You can other buy gold coins.
yeah, if you hold 600 or so dollars
Um, not from the government. The US go off the "gold ingots standard" (where every dollar of currency was back by gold stored by the government) a unbelievably long time ago. They don't do that anymore -- now the dollar represents a portion of the perceived helpfulness of the US economy, which importance is set by international currency traders. It's not set in hint to the price of gold any longer. Same go for Great Britain, whose "pound sterling" ceased to be represented by the importance of a pound of sterling silver a very long time ago.

You can still rob your dollars to a commodity broker and buy gold worth alike value as your dollars -- but this is a risky investment, as both the price of gold ingots and the value of the dollar rise and fall according to speculation on trading markets. If the gold ingots gains worth and the dollar loses value, your investment surrounded by gold will be worth more. If the dollar gain value and gold ingots loses value, your investment will be worth smaller amount. Your gamble :)

http://www.usps.com/ Yes, you can dispatch them US mail. This is their website and it answers almost anything you stipulation to know. You might want to consider priority mail and the post bureau even will furnish the box if you go in attendance to pick it up. It has one rate regardless of counterweight but is often worth it.
Yes you can use the United States Postal Service. What I do to ship packages is jump online to www.usps.com and print my shipping label from near. How much its going to cost is going to depend on the weight of the box and where its going and how nifty you want to get it nearby. If I am shipping games, books, cd's, dvd's or vhs tapes I use medium mail resort which is really cheap.
Depends on weight if you distribute them first class. If you have them on disk you can use a special priority correspondence envelope and send them for a flat rate. If you find insurance and proof of delivery, in the order of $6. Could probably send them cheapest channel for $3.
Yes you can send thru USPS and the cost will depend on the solidity, I would say probably smaller amount than $5.

How Do Con Artists Work?

Question:

Answer:
Con artists make money through fraud. They lie, cheat and fool folks into thinking they've happened onto a large amount or some easy money, when they're the ones who'll be making money. If that doesn't work, they'll bear advantage of our weakness -- loneliness, insecurity, poor health or simple ignorance. The lone thing more defining to a con artist than perfecting a con is perfect a total lack of conscience.
What does the average con artist look similar to? Despite what you may think, he isn't other a shady-looking character. A con artist is an expert at looking however he requests to look. If the con involves banking or investments, the con artist will wear a snappy suit. If it involves home augmentation scams, he'll show up wearing well-worn work clothes. Even the simple assumption that the con is a "he" is incorrect: there are plenty of con women too.

You might reckon you can spot a con artist because he's someone you instinctively "don't trust." But the term con artist is short for confidence artist -- they gain your confidence lately long enough to catch their hands on your money. They can be remarkably charming and persuasive. A good con artist can even produce you believe he is really an old friend you haven't see in years.

Con artists do share clear in your mind characteristics, however. Even the best con can only walk on for so long before individuals start getting suspicious. For that reason, con artists tend to move frequently. They may hold a job that allows this, or they might claim to enjoy such a job. Railroad worker, carnival worker and traveling salesman are adjectives parts con artists play to cover up their constant relocations.

A Con's a Con
Different terms for con artists include: flim flam man, nouns artist, shyster or sheister, bunco man (after the name of a popular "fixed" card spectator sport that has since become synonymous beside scams), bamboozler, swindler, grifter and hustler.

It would be impossible to catalogue every con, because con artists are inventive. While frequent cons are simply variations on ones that are hundreds of years ancient, new technology and laws present con artists the opportunity to create original scam. Many cons tend to fall into a few common categories, however: street cons, business cons, Internet cons, loan cons and home development cons.

Street Cons
These are cons that usually happen efficiently in a public place. They collectively involve the loss of small amounts of money -- a few hundred dollars is a good whip for a street con. The victim is usually approached by a stranger who have an offer, make a bet, or is reacting to something seemingly subjective and unrelated that has happen nearby. This "random" event is, unsurprisingly, something the con artist set up well ahead of time.

Street cons include:

The Pedigree Dog
A stranger walk into a bar near a dog trailing him on a leash. He asks if the owner can watch his dog for a few minutes while he places a bet or attends to a business business deal. While the stranger is gone, a second con artist arrives and notices the dog. He claims to be an expert on dog breeding, and say that this dog is worth hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. He asks the owner if the dog is for public sale because he'll pay top dollar. The entire scam hinge on the bar owner's greed. The assumption is he'll see the hit and miss to buy the dog from the unsuspecting owner for a low price, then supply the valuable dog to this "expert breeder." He tell the dog expert to come back following, then offer to buy the dog when its owner returns. The dog's owner sells it, but the "expert" never comes subsidise to buy it. The two con artists walk away beside a few hundred dollars, and the bar owner get stuck with a "mutt." In Neil Gaiman's fresh "American Gods," two characters discuss this con using a violin instead of a dog.

The Pigeon Drop
There are several variations of this con, but they adjectives start with the casualty and the con artist both spotting something of value lying around. It's usually an envelope or daypack full of money, but it could be a diamond ring. The con artist tries to get the martyr to notice the envelope first, making him smaller amount likely to suspect that the con artist planted it. A second con artist may capture involved as the victim and the first con artist desire to split up the found money, demanding a fair share since he saw it too.

At this point, the cons will suggest that everyone put some of their own money into the envelope as "worthy faith money," to show that they're financially responsible citizens. Once all of the money is within the envelope, it is divided into thirds and returned to the victim and the two con artists. However, through sleight of foot and a distraction, the victim get an envelope full of paper bits and bobs.

In the ring variation, the con artist claims to enjoy some expertise in jewelry assessment, and proclaims the ring to be worth several hundred dollars or more. However, not have time to sell or forfeit the ring, the con artist offers to consent to the victim buy out his partly. So the victim pays what he can to the con artist and keep the "valuable" ring, which is actually a cheap copy. The victim, or "pigeon," is "dropped" and vanished with nil.

Three-card Monte
In this famous street con, a con artist have a table with three cards surrounded by front of her. One card is flipped over to reveal that it is the Ace of Spades (or any other card). The victim places a bet that he can hang on to an eye on that card while the con artist quickly rearrange the cards on the table. If the correct card is picked, the victim win. Friends of the con artist play the game, sometimes successful, sometimes losing, to give the sufferer the impression that it is a objective game he might win if he have a sharp eye. In reality, the con artist is a master of sleight of paw, able to switch cards short the victim notice. No matter how particularly he watches, the victim will never pick the right card unless the con artist desires him to. Variations include the use of shells (a "shell game" is sometimes used to mean any class of deceptive scam) or cups near the victim trying to spot a quarter, a pea or a globe held within one of the shells.
They exploit empire by getting them when they are vulnerable or emotionaly unstable. They may bring to the fore excitement levels or raison d`¨ētre confusion.

if I have 20,000 thousand dollars to invest or doesn`t matter what what would be the best point to do to net a profit??

Question:
start a business?? invest in stock/which one?? etc...

Answer:
If you can find a piece of valid estate with 20,000 down, and rent it out where on earth the monthly rent covers the mortgage payment and property taxes, that would be a great investment.

Not with the sole purpose will the renters be paying the mortgage and expenses, but the rental property should grow in helpfulness, plus the renters will be paying for you to grow equity in the place.

You unsurprisingly also get a nice charge deduction from mortgage interest and property taxes.

This is not an unproblematic investment to make. It will lift some research on your part, finding a honourable rental home where the rents can cover the expenses, and finding a fitting loan to keep the monthly payments low.

Don't procure any weird loans similar to an adjustable rate or interest only loan. If you can't engineer this work with a standard 30-year fixed rate, later walk away.

If you preference to make a more meek investment, I'd advise buying some index type no-load mutual funds from Vanguard. Their funds are severely low cost and if you buy a few funds that spread the investments around, you should have justly low risk. Maybe 50% in the total domestic stock souk fund, 20% in Foreign market, and 30% in the Total Bond fund.
short occupancy: try investing in small hat companies (be careful)

long term: ROTH IRA
Buy a house. Home ownership can craft you rich!
put it into an interest account or start a business. remeber most business dont construct a profit until after 2 years of trade so you will have to be enormously careful
I'd right to be heard put half or three quaters within the bank and agree to it grow slowly Take the other half and invest within stock. Try to invest in stocks that are needed close to utilities etc etc make sure your portfolio is diverse import say 60% within low risk 25% in environment risk and 15% in giant risk. That way if the high/medium risk stock reservoir you'll still have the majority of your money. I don't know which stock though.
I would cram about the stock marketplace and pick ten stocks that you understand (like Exxon because you buy gas, for example). Or, you could buy probably five mutual funds, one U.S., one international, one aggressive, one conservative, something like that). That will backing you be diversified so you don't risk it all on one item. But you'll need to study up first. I would read one of Suze Orman's books to obtain started.
You have several option. First, though, begin by answering a few question: would this be short term or long residence? Do you want to put in profoundly of effort one-sidedly, or keep it low maintainence? Finally, do you want to form this a high or low risk investment.

Long residence, personal action or high-ranking risk investments get you larger returns, but you can see in that are also drawbacks. The other options are easier and safer, but you would not earn as much on your investment.

With money approaching that, I personally would consider using it to start a small business, approaching opening a inn. I might set some aside to play in the stock souk. If you would like that route, I suggest doing some research next to MotleyFool. Then sign up for a cheap online brokerage account, such as near eTrade or Scottrade, where trading is cheap.

The smartest choices would probably be investing surrounded by the money market next to mutual funds. Charles Schwab would be a good place to start. You buy a portion of a portfolio they own put together of stocks. They do most of the work for you, and having spread the investment over plentiful companies reduces risk.

My personal favorite are funds that you purchase online through companies similar to ING Direct or EmigrantDirect American Dream account. These accomplishment like reserves accounts, but provide you with a tremendously highly developed return (like 5% interest). A large benefit here, as next to stocks, is liquidity: you can pull your money out of the investment pretty easily near little or no penalty.
However, here is almost no risk unlike stocks, as your funds will be federally insured, so you are protected from loss.

If you are interested, you can put that money towards a down payment for a house. Investing within real estate can earn some spectacular returns on your money. Remember, though, it is risky, and it will imagined require much more investment over time than 20,000 (unless you turn around and sell it). But that will lift much more time and effort than you might want.

I would probably move about
Hope that helps.
only got a tip on weds of later week that jamba juice is going to skyrocket- buy stocks

or... you can short the red juice marketplace in commodities- you will capture a daily return on this investment... but don't bet your in one piece wad- you need some money within the account for fringe calls- when the price fluxes you will be liable for the money involved until you turn a profit

if you start a business, you will always be working- why not invest and tolerate your money do the work FOR you?

I don't know about the Denver example you give, but location is key to a business too. Some areas are the kiss of passing, others are a boom. This is where the research comes contained by very handy.

Is it banned for the USPS not to deliver the correspondence on a light of day when at hand is a substitute owner?

Question:

Answer:
It depends what type of mail it is. If it is a box and they are have issues with staffing, they may choose not to deliver boxes. All correspondence, magazines and bubble envelops should walk through. Usually, the USPS does not like to hold onto post any longer than they have too.

My brother-in-law works for the USPS and he help me answer this.
Sounds a little half-a**ed on their section, but seriously, they're USPS. What can you expect? I used to sell on ebay and they simply do whatever they want. And can't try to grasp them for doing something wrong.. they are federally funded. so BLAH on USPS.
They are a private company and can do what they want...only recourse would be if you for transference for a certain afternoon and time such as next sunshine service. Even then, it is not "illegal", the most it could become is a civil casing.
kinda
I always thought that if they have mail for you, even if it be only one piece of cast-offs, they had to deliver it, no issue what. But unfortunately, I don't know that near is much that you can do. How are you going to prove that there be mail for you? And they are a federal agency...I guess you could complain to the postmaster of the branch and work your route up, but is it worth it to have the postman against you?
So, the regular carter was rotten and the substitute didn't deliver?

I would say probably not. They don't know the route, pass them the benefit of the doubt as they are only human.

I don't reflect on the post office would do much if anything roughly speaking it either... they would say-so the same entity, and add a sorry.
Intentional obstruction of the mail is a sacrilege of federal law reportable to the Postal Inspectors. You'll find their correlation on the very bottom of the page at USPS.com
