I am a seller on eBay. I've never have this problem before. I sold an item on eBay. The buyer have the wrong address in the eBay and Paypal systems. I shipped to her address via the USPS. Then I get an e-mail saying, "I hope you didn't ship to that address...I could've sworn I changed it surrounded by the system!" Well, too late. A few days next, the item was returned to my doorstep (I guess they don't forward packages - or she didn't forward her mail). What do I do? She asked if she could pick it up since she single lives 20 miles away. I'm not too thrilled with that (you never know these days). Do I recharge her for the shipping duty? Do I relist the item and return the money (minus posting fees and shipping fees) to her? It's not my fault she moved and didn't loose change her address. I e-mailed eBay customer service 2 days ago to get an sanctioned eBay stance (I didn't see one on their website) and haven't gotten a response. I don't want to wait any longer.

I conjecture, going purely by eBay rules, you can do either of the option you listed. However, the right entity to do would be to give her the opportunity, reship with supplementary shipping fees, or like the other respondent said, get together her at a Starbucks or some place like that and go and get the item to her. That would be more in the spirit of what eBay is supposed to be give or take a few.
I believe that you really want to sell the item, and the other creature has remunerated for it, so i assume they want it. Why don't you meet her at a library or a shopping precinct, and just present it to her.
