I have often wondered why the "bills" (notes) are adjectives the same here and have never considered the problem for the visually impaired. I do suppose colour difference is something that should be considered for everyone, but I think a size adjustment would be expensive. There are so many machines that read money that at hand would be allot to change. I wonder if something could be added to the bills to breed a difference, some sort of embossing etc. Not that it would be braille, but at least present a similar enough effect.

Different sizes, plus surrounded by the US all the money is matching colour which makes it really confusing, even for someone not visually impair. At least within britain I know if I see blue it's lb5, orange lb10 etc.
I have a sneaking suspicion that that would be a good start - colouring adjectives the different denominations different colours!
About time too!! I am not visually impaired but when I go to the states a few years ago I was shocked at how difficult it is to communicate the notes apart!! They are like colour, pretty much the same size, and the amount of the file is written really small in comparison to Engish proceedings and notes contained by other countries!
