They usually settle before court, and if you ask for interest, after they will be much more likely to impart you the full amount of your charges (without interest), than if you didn't include interest, which is why people are doing it. In bloody cases, they may actually wage the interest, but they don't have to, so they don't repeatedly do this.
If they make you an bestow of your full charges without interest in the past it goes to court, after you must accept this, you can't run them to court just to get hold of the interest.
