I haven't myself claimed from Abbey, but some of the users of my site enjoy successfully claimed from them.
A rough time scale is:
1) Write to the mound asking for a copy of your charges for the last 6 years using the Data Protection Act - The dune has 40 days to reply.
2) Write a communication to bank attaching a calendar (list) of charges and asking for them back. The hill has 14 days to respond.
3) Write the sandbank a Letter before Action giving them one concluding chance to return your charges before you run them to court. The bank have 14 days to respond.
4) Take the bank to court. The claim is served on the ridge 5 days after being lodged near the court (which you can do online using the Money Claim website). The bank hold 14 days to respond, if they don't you win by default. If the ridge do respond, they then enjoy another 14 days to submit a defence. If they don't you win by non-attendance. If they do, they won't turn up in court, and again you win.
These deadline can't be shortened, they are the proper legal steps, and following them guarentees you will bring back your charges back.
Usually the bank settle before you lodge a claim within court, but this is happening smaller number now, due to the reality they have so much work to do near people claiming their charges spinal column. If you do have to submit a claim to the court, it will lift a bit longer, but you will get the charges hindmost still.
