What I learned is that if your candle burns beside black smoke it is not a quality candle. If it burns next to a white or not a noticeable smoke it is a correct candle. There are some really good candles out nearby. I have a candle radiator and I buy highly stinking candles and put the candle (in a jar) on the warmer and it scent the area and I don't enjoy to worry in the order of my children getting burned on a lit candle.
Buy from a well recognised retailler sorry i dont know much give or take a few candles.

A correct candle will burn down evenly without departure anythign behind.
Take Yankee Candles for example slightly expensive and they do not burn evenly down the jar they leave greatly of excess wax as they are using the wrong size wick in diameter for in that jar. Also there are rather pricey and most of there product is not aromatic all the approach through.
A good altenative to buring candles is to place your candle on a candle radiator. Also Fragrance Lampes are growing popular like "Lampe Berger" its a better and much cleaner ascendancy to bringing aroma through out your home. Though the lampes can be very pricey you can shop around and buy them at wholesale or on Ebay for cheap. The oil they burn are "Isopropyl Alchohol" clean and impressively safe. If you want to refine it into lighting products like kerosene, gasoline, etc., consequently you want a light crude. Louisiana have light sweet crude.
