I believe it's because Costco has some features of deal near American Express. I do think that they adopt Visa debit cards, though.

couple of reasons - they hold a partnership with Amex and credit cards companies charge a service payment to the stores for every transaction made. My only guidance would be to get a CPA accountant to turn with you and look into their accounting books, resembling monthly sales, gross profit, rax paperwork, permits, etc. and most importantly: DEBTS. The CPA will know what to look for. If the current owner refuse to open files, this will be a very big sign to me. If paperwork show low sales, later look into operations and try to see what might own causing this and if in that is a way to modernize sales. Try to avoid false hopes.

You completely not here out interest. $591.71 is not your principle payment. It is your P&I, or principle and interest expense.
Very little of your payment go to your principle balance within the early years of a 30 year mortgage. Most of it go to interest.
The amount going to interest gradually go down, bit by bit, and the amount going to principle gradually go up as the years go by. After 30 years, nearly adjectives of your payment will progress to principle.
