Well, a true Pyramid Scheme is completely illegal. But, I own my doubts that you are referring to one of those. I'll just bet that you are referring to a web marketing company or a Multi-Level Marketing company. These two types of pyramids are legal. I successfully claimed back over lb700 from HSBC, and users of my site enjoy got copious thousands back from other bank and building societies. The process is easy, and can be done entirely yourself beside no need for solicitors etc.
Time astute, it takes around 3 months, but this is speeded up by over a month if you already enjoy your bank statements or can bring back them for the last 6 years through online bank.
The steps to claim back your charges are:
1) Write to the edge, and ask for a copy of your charges (or statements as an alternative) for the last 6 years by making a Subject Access Request below the Data Protection Act, enclosing a cheque for lb10 made out to the edge. Send the letter to the bank head department for the attention of the Data Protection Officer. The bank hold 40 days from receipt of the communiqué to send you the charge details.
2) Send the guard a letter asking for them to return your charges, giving them 14 days to reply.
3 Send the bank a Letter Before Action giving the dune one last hit and miss to refund your charges in the past you take court act, giving them 14 days to reply.
4) File a claim in the small claims court. The claim is served on the hill 5 days after its submitted. The bank afterwards has 14 days to acknowledge the claim. If they don't next after the 14 days from when the claim is served, you can request a Judgement by Default, and win the case. If they do acknowledge the claim, next then hold another 14 days (making 28 days after the date the claim was served on the bank) to profile a defence. If they don't later you can again request a Judgement by Default and win the case. If they database a defence, after a court date will be allocated and the bank will stern down at some point before that date, they won't run to the actual hearing. Either approach, you will win, its just a business of how much time it takes, but that depends on how the mound behaves.

In My job we purely get time and a Day stale in Lieu of working the Bank Holidays.

There's no fixed statute - it's up to your employer. In my experience, larger companies are more likely to confer time and a half while smaller companies will tend to pass toil.
