I am a customer service advisor and as a company we undergo fairly a lot of training (not a short time ago before we start the errand but also continuous training throughout) The training sessions are always great and everyone looks forward to them! Here's some of the best bits that aid make it fun...
1) Always start next to an ice breaker, even if everyone is from alike company, there will other be something you don't know about someone. So other start with a game/activity - i.e. desert island (3 CD's, 3 books), making a heading poster etc
2) Obviously the most important piece is to do the training, personally I meditate the best way is via powerpoint. Put some pen and paper contained by the middle of the table and let them appropriate notes if they need but also provide a handout of the presentation at the end of the evening/training session.
3) A spectator sport which actually emphasises push button factors of apt customer service - e.g. to emphasise the importance of listen (vital for customer service) you could separate them into teams (or individuals) and provide them riddles which involve listening - i.e. If I appropriate 5 apples from 8 apples - how many do I hold...answer 5 (because you've taken the apples and now you're keeping them.) Or if a plane crashes over the border of Spain and Portugal where on earth would the survivors be buried (nowhere because they're survivors). There's many more similar to this, I'm sure you'll find them on a website or something but you get the jist...promoting listen skills.
4) That's all I can have a sneaking suspicion that of really...like I said basically break it up, maybe keep under surveillance a video clip of something relating to customer service, play a few relevant games and Good Luck! Let us know how it goes...
