I would use a software approaching MS Project over a spreadsheet to manage a project. It is difficult to do paperwork subtasks & time line, and conduct operations resources, using a simple spreadsheet. I only use spreadsheet to organize the cost of a project, not the actual project itself. Needless to speak, their projects were recurrently delayed because no one know what his/her tasks are or when the tasks are due. During my time there, I have not seen one project completed on the dot or on budget.
