Prices of merchandise surrounded by Charity Shops?
Question:
It seems to me that some charity shops are overpricing some of the stuff thy hold on sale. I can buy stuff brand tentative for less than they are asking on the label. Yes I appreciate tht they need to acquire the best price tht they can, but surely by lowering the prices to a more realistic smooth the shop would turn the goods over faster and thus make more money for the charity concerned. Anyone else agree?
This relates to shops surrounded by the UK, not sure about anywhere else.
Answers:
When charity shpos first started adjectives the good they sold be a bargain, but they become to popular and the result is the ridiculous prices they now charge. But orginally they started out as small shops run by local volunteers. but enjoy no been swallowed up by some form of corperate marketing and most own large exspensive office paying stupid wage to managers to run the bloody things. I cannot be sure but I believe some of the manager are on upwards of lb100000per year with adjectives the perks thrown surrounded by as well the sooner the shops take back to grass roots the better it will be for adjectives I am all for raise money for charity but let the charity be run by volunteers. contained by some charity shops the money raised for charity is smaller quantity than the wages paid out this is wrong.
I for one utter get hindmost to the old days
yes, I do agree. Some can be reasonably greedy, they used to be a good place to bring back a bargain but immediately it is more difficult to find them. I live in Cornwall and I find the charity shops here more expensive than anywhere else I enjoy lived including London!
At last, some one have also noticed! They are pricing nearly 10% below ordinary retail, and still don't rate any tax! These are immediately proper shops, and should fork out like evryone else!
I in fact used to enjoy a worthy rummage through the second hand shops, but presently they are so expensive.
I laughed when i picked up a top within one shop, it was not designer, nought special and not in principally good slash. They wanted lb8 for it
With supermarkets pricing clothes so cheaply i do not bother any more.
I totally agree I'm a charity shop user and here they see a designer name and put it up for Dutch auction at an extortionate price.
I always bring up to date the staff not to overcharge for things they get free especially when it's simply a few bob short of the brand new price.
i agree next to you there, be in a charity shop this morning, i buy books in attendance and some are priced not that much less than asda or tesco. psyche have thought to price things lower and find a quick turnaround on things would be a better process to raise money!
Shame on you Zed - as a supervisor in the voluntary sector you know that charities are grateful to make the most of their resources. The proceeds of the mart of donated goods go to the charity, so of course they dont income tax on the profits!
Maybe you are not aware that Gt Yarmouth CAB have its own charity shop?
I agree with you, it seem that over the last few years they hold got greedy. After adjectives, they get these items donated and most of the relatives that work in the shops are volunteers. Obviously nearby are overheads involved with leasing a premises, hurricane lantern and heating and insurance etc, but even so... It used to be that shopping surrounded by a charity shop was practical when you were on a tight budget and needed cheap and cheerful clothes etc, but very soon it is often better to move about to Primark or Peacocks or just the local souk.
I agree,I no longer go to them as I am appalled at the prices of donated items.I can buy brand current jeans at asda tescos etc for lb3,so why would I want to buy old worn ones for lb4.50? Books are really expensive,I use the library for nought.I have be saying for years,that if they sold everything really cheap,they would hold a faster and bigger turn round.I have see truckloads of donated gifts going to recycling places for pennies,it does'nt construct sense.
It's because charities are run like companies now, only difference self that the 'profits' go to support people, to some extent than to help shareholders.
So they'll be run to maximise 'profits', which for a small shop probably won't be going to selling clothes cheaply.
I too work for a charity in the voluntary sector and on the other hand I do have various charity shops (not the one I work for obviously) which I now boycott because they are so expensive! I repeatedly find items priced more than they are to buy new within the original store e.g. a milieu sized plastic flip top bin for lb5! I mean...come on!! It's second foot and cheaper to buy new!

866-493-2702 this company keep calling me, and machines ask me to verify that i'm the genuine individual, scam?
Question:
here is the number 866-493-2702 that keeps calling me
the company call me and then here is a machine that say that if i'm the real (*name), after press 1
then it ask me to press contained by my zipcode, then it ask me to type surrounded by the last four digit of my SS#.
when it get to the SS# thing, i of late hung up thinking that if they knew who i be, then they don't requirement to know that i may not be the real (*name).
I'm surrounded by college and recently have been through some hospitalization and surgery. and i've be using my medical card at lots of places for this. (like 5 different places).
has anyone every get this before? are they a genuine legit company?
I don't even know the company's name. The contraption might have said it, but i can never think through a single thing it say.
I get this phone up like everyday from indistinguishable phone number. Any Idea?
Answers:
Any company that asks you over the phone for your ss #, bank info or anything close to that is a scam. NO company would do that beside a voice over message, nor call and ask for that info any. It's a scam, report the number to your attorney generals office.
EDIT**** Do you hold a Kohl's credit card? That could be the culprit.
I did a search on the phone number and that be why I linked the webpage. The phone number have something to do with Kohls. I would speak though when you call them that you really don't want to input that personal of information and how do you speak to someone next to a different security grill.
http://800notes.com/phone.aspx/1-866-493...
I'm not aware of that particular number you only posted, but there have been a few times where on earth a company (or whatever it is) have called for my aunts asking if you are that entity, then press 1. I never press 1 because I'm not any one of my aunts. But I've never heard of something close to that asking for your SS#.
If it's asking for your SS#, then that ability something is not right? Why should you have to verify info next to them if they are the ones contacting you? That basically proves it's a possible scam. Don't drop for it. Actually, you need to report it.
It's probably a computer generate call trying to accomplish you and verify you are the one answering. These are used by collection agencies.
Do you have any outstanding bills?
If they're calling every hours of daylight it may be a bill collector trying to get through to you. If its simply asking for the last four digits of your social and not the entire number its probably nontoxic to do so and find out whats going on.
Nobody has the right to ask for you anything related to your SSN# if they cannot prove who they are, within a legit way.
While a great deal of places utilize SSN #'s to keep track of information and as a method of looking up your info, they are legit and usually in-person. This sounds like a scam to me, and I'd never provide that information. If they couldn't convey you a legit letter contained by the mail stating doesn`t matter what they are trying to contact you about (including a phone number where on earth you can talk to a human at a legit place)...after they're fake and only trying to get your info. Goo djob for getting suspicious roughly speaking the SSN# thing.
Scam artists are getting so sophisticated at the moment that they actually are setting up information systems (similar to recordings at legit places)...where on earth you call anything number given from somewhere (e-mail, etc.) and when you enter your information into the system...it is of course going straight to the scammer. So, beware and be aware...
If you feel that any information you may enjoy given somewhere was somehow used inappropriately to try to scam you...afterwards I'd suggest calling Equifax and putting a "Consumer Fraud Alert" on your credit report. I've done a similar thing when a credit card mysteriously open in my nickname, which I didn't apply for. I think it's any for 3 months or 6 months. Basically all it say is you have a fraud alert on your explanation, and lists your phone # on your credit report. So any unsullied creditors, loans, etc. or other things opened contained by your name require for you to be call first and give say-so before it is approved. Might be a accurate idea, and will not 'hurt' your credit chalk up or report in any track. But if somebody has adequate info to open something surrounded by your name...it'll prevent a world of trouble for you.
That is a ploy sometimes used by collection agencies.
press 0 to see if you can grasp patched through.
Anytime they ask you for your social security #, it is a SCAM.
By Law (At tiniest in CA.) you are excluded to ask for the SS#, unless it's a live, one-on-one conversation, and the party giving the SS# knowing give or agrees to give it.
I own not been through what you are going through, but if it looks approaching, sounds like or your gut tell you its a SCAM, treat it like one!

Question:
I have window xp
Answers:
Ugh you sound approaching my boss. Lighten up a little. They're making money for YOU while you check out RunEye.com.
block the Internet!
Hire a fully clad IT consultant for a couple of days to sort it out.
They have a program at my institution where one administrator can see adjectives the peoples screens. Not one and only that but he can lock screens and transport messages.
Edit the registry to remove icons for internet explorer or create a special login for work purposes.
What you can do is hamper the access to the other program except if it neccessary and make sure purely the program you want them to use is install in the computer. That is work adjectives the time.
well, you could install software to monitor their hustle and bustle and let them know in the region of it. Or, you could install firewalls on your system that close the commonly used ports for Internet use. Or you could just disconnect Internet use from those computers. Or you could restrain what sites they can use on the Internet. It all depends on how your net is set up as well.
Disconnect Internet access and they'll quit using it. You also could get hold of a firewall that will block websites that aren't work appropriate. I had one and the same problem and i blocked all websites except websites of the vendor we deal beside.
Well i am assuming that you mean they are using it for purposes unrelated to wor,so surrounded by that case you can set a block on the computer to with the sole purpose allow users limited or not internet access or simply change the password so they own to get prior approval from you since going online. Or another option is to look into your brower log (little arrow that shows websites visited) and block those primary sites. I know myspace and other social network sites are highly used at work and at conservatory and jsut about everywhere else you budge. If all else fail make an example out of the subsequent person that breaks the rule and discipline or fire them. Good luck.
Use the System Administration funcitonality to require password access to grasp onto the Computer. Give each member of staff their own password. You can then track individual CPU usage via login/password hobby. Once they know that you are monitoring their usage you will see the non-productive uses of the CPU decrease.
set restrictions
How much is too much? You don't want forlorn employees any, sometimes a moment to handle personal business is needed during working hours, impose face it, that's whe businesses are start on. Would you rather them taking sour work all the time?
But set access is definitely a appropriate idea!
You can do approaching I did for one of my employees. After notice that this person be using the computer for myspace.com and job search, I put a password on all sites that solely I had access to, or know. Anytime this person tried to access the internet it would ask for the password. Also, I removed any and adjectives programs that this person did not involve to use. This person have installed Yahoo games and other "non-worked-related" software, so I removed it. Once it was gone and the internet be blocked, this person couldn't do anything on the computer but their livelihood. It worked quite other.
In internet explorer go to Tools - Internet Options - Content - underneath Content Advisor click Enable. Just go through respectively tab and look at which would apply to you. The General tab is where you can establish a Supervisor Password.
Good luck!
Install cameras (even imitation ones) behind the users and trademark it clear that they are only to be used for invoicing or they will be disciplined.
Or,
Set them up on passwords and track usage, if you want to be more precise
I work in the IT department and at hand are several ways you can handle this. How abundant employees do you own? Does each member of staff have their own computer or are they shared between more than one entity? Do you have a broadcast/public email almanac for all of your personnel? First, put the fear of God surrounded by them and let them know surrounded by a team assignation or email broadcast that 'effective this date, your internet usage will monitored' - something like that. Let them that they're mortal watched. There are ways they can be controlled to what they can do on their computers, you need to purloin charge with this and do something going on for it immediately!

Melissa purchases a $50, 30yr annuity. Gary purchases a $50 perpetuity. In both cases pmts bgn contained by 1 yr?
Question:
and the appropriate interest rate is 12.5%. What is the present value of Gary's payments that will materialize from year 31 onwards?
Answers:
Gary's PV.
PV of CF(N) from 31 to perpetuity
PV = Perpetuity - Annuity (1 to 30)
PV = [CF/(r-g)] - Annuity (1 to 30)
PV = (50/(12.5%-0%) - $388.32*
PV = 400 - 388.32 =
$11.68
* calculated using financial calculator where PMT = 50, I/Y = 12.5%, N = 30, FV = 0. Compute PV
Alternative solution:
PV(CF) of 31 to infinite =
PV(30 years @ 12.5%) of FV annuity (31 to infinite) =
PV(400) : 30 years @12.5% =
$11.68*
* Solve on financial calculator or spreadsheet
N = 30, I/Y = 12.%, FV = 400, PMT = 0. Solve for PV.
China - manor of fake?
Question:
We all know that china produces profusely of fake products (ever see a fake Nike? how almost a fake iPod? ersatz Nokia?) but how come other big countries aren't touching them and china still continues to be a growing giant?
Answers:
China has highly lax protection laws on intellectual property. It is criminal in most developed nation to "knock off" things that are trademarked, copyrighted or patented. This is to guarantee the integrity of the product and allow the developer some time to profit from their development costs and crack. Because these laws are well circumvented in China, they tend to produce alot of fake.
For some buyers, this is a boon because you can buy cheap goods. But, would you buy a knock sour prescription drug if you knew that in that isn't any ovesight? Also, it's unfair for those companies who spend so much money surrounded by product development to come out next to something new and enjoy a competitor knock it off lacking a dollar spent in R&D.
