I'll be honest. It's nearly impossible for me to give you a suitable answer to that question. I don't know you and I don't know the companies you're applying for job with. But I can recommend a few things.
1. Depending on your type of art, you might consider using a Functional or Combined format. In layman's terms, one that focuses smaller quantity on your work experience and more on everything else.
2. On your resume, you might consider leaving sour the months of your employment dates (e.g. instead of "August 2003 - June 2006" try "2003-2006").
3. Don't permit it get to you too much. Seven months isn't an eternity. I mingy, it's a fairly long time, but no drive to wreck yourself worrying about it. Acting guilty will lately hurt your chances more.
4. If the employer doesn't mention it, don't mention it. There is no grounds to come to their door pleading for mercy. Be confident!
5. Be prepared in travel case the employer does mention it. This is something only you can do. I don't know what you be doing in that seven months. You may enjoy been looking for a bright job. Taking keeping of Grandma Smith. Traveling to gain some new perspective. Or... goofing rotten. Whatever it was, cause the best of it.
