it's a conspiracy.. the gas companies want us to compensate $4/gallon next year, so they're getting us used to $3.10 - $3.40/gallon presently. as the price slowly climbs up, we tend to simply forget that gas USED TO BE a dollar less. but we also forget Chevron/Texaco posted massive quarterly profits, as did ALL of the gas companies, so, where's the stash for us? did they try to help the community by lowering prices? Here's the route it works in California:

After earning my MBA I become more drawn towards " the numbers" so to speak, did some soul searching and very soon I am taking accounting classes towards my CPA. I plan on working in public accounting for give or take a few 5 years then switching rear legs to industry. My ultimate aim is to be CFO.
My question is: What are the Pro's /Con's of respectively option
Option 1: I own an opportunity to work a dual internship with a B4 (public) / Mid Size PA firm later in private accounting, which starts within Jan 08. The only downside is that I disappear a job near great beni's to work paid internships for 8 months near no guarantee of finding employment in a jacked-up Michigan discount afterwards.
Option 2: Put in for a verbs to accounting/finance with my current company, finish my coursework, earn CPA, later apply for jobs at PA firms.

However, the caveat is that a CPA may bring you to the controller position, but not necessarily the CFO position.
For a small company, you can probably earn the credibility by rising through the ranks. You can move into a financial analyst position or accountant position, do the rotation, and move up to the CFO path. You don't necessarily obligation to have a public accounting circumstance in this casing.
Other factor to consider:
- Working for Big-4 accounting firms means lots of traveling and long hours. You're at different client sites adjectives of the time and you will likely work delayed. Can your spouse and baby pedal the extended absence? I other think relations is above work.
I recommend:
1) I think pick 2 makes more sense for you at this point contained by time. You keep the benefits and creditbility you built up at your company while earn your CPA. The transition will be much smoother as you already know the business and people. And you're right, you can other apply to a Big-4 after getting your CPA leveraging your industry and accounting experience.
I think you will lose smaller quantity money, have a more stable growth environment, and better nearest and dearest life going next to option 2.

you quit this company for a drive. yes a big lump of money would be great, but happiness is worth ALOT more. you be obviously going to do of late fine getting a new charge, otherwise you wouldn't have quit. to me it would be worth it to hold a little longer paying stale the mortgage and to be happy. than to "trade your soul" and spend the next 2 years next to that bad gut awareness.
only you can resolve what's best for you though.
#1 I would check out the company that is buying your employer out and make sure they are the features of company that you would care to work for,
#2 If you transport the money and stay even if you are not happy, I would imagine eventually you will become resentful of the things that you thought were your reason for doing so. (kinda the way the human brain protects us from guilt)
#3 How do you know you will similar to either of the unknown positions better until you have worked in that? Is there anyway to set up a "shadow day" at the other work sites, to compassionate of get a consciousness of the work place atmosphere at the 2 new job before you be paid your final decision?
I would have an idea that you need to confer things over with your partner and if you dislike your post enough to resign contained by the first place maybe it is purely a good time for a transmute.
