What is up, is that since friday morning (27th July 2007), there have been a hold on adjectives bank charge claims granted to the bank by the FSA (Financial Services Authority).
This came in the region of because the OFT (Office of Fair Trading) are bringing a test baggage to the High Court, to decide once and for adjectives whether or not bank charges are unlawful, and can be claimed rear legs.

If the edge made you an offer prior to the hold, you own 2 months from the date of the offer to resolve whether to accept the extend, or wait for the interview case ruling. Should you wish to adopt the offer, the bank MUST honour it and pay out - this be one of the conditions the FSA imposed on the banks when they granted the hold.
For unsullied claimants, its still a good theory to claim, as if the OFT win, you`ll get compensated out a lot quicker. At the moment, when you write to the ridge asking for your charges refunded, they own to log your claim and reply within 5 days. However, for the time human being thats it, nothing further happen.

There is no decision nonetheless. A few days ago a media touted "tryout case" was thrown out of court. However, this is learned as it is now the subject to a propper OFT assessment cast.
All exotic claims are put on hold following an FSA ruling, current ones are being considered still.
It could thieve up to 2 years for this to be resolved now, as in anticipation of the OFT's result the banks will hold the right to appeal.
