Its ok but as expected there is a huge risk and other costs. If the company is mortal bought out for 40 in speak 8 months and the current price is 30 then clearly nearby is a very life-size chance the buyout won't materialize (i'm assuming the buyout is common knowledge) - if the buyout be a near resolve the share price would be alot closer to 40.
Also, you are completely forgetting the cost of the options themselves (plus commissions). I'll bet you option on a situation like that coming due within 8 months away will run you at least 6 pts, perchance nearer to 8 or even 10. This gives you a return of 4-0K. Great percentagewise is you can win the 4 each (off a cost of 6) but still risky - you expected will lose it all (since the prices are bad and therefore at hand is a very correct chance the merger will fail)
No sure things beside options - I'm assuming no insider trading here.
Note, I;ve found it bloody you can make $$$ on option in a probable capture since the stock price plus option price usually exceeds (or nearly exactly matches) the merger price. Only physical time is if the bid is sweetened. Option writers aren't stupid.

I can't see that it matter. It's just a checking explanation and you are just starting out so you don't enjoy complicated service requirements. What is "negative credit" anyway? If you own a history of overdrafts and bounced checks, there might be a problem.
