I have live surrounded by both cities and I would have to enunciate that although there are advantages and disadvantages to both, Los Angeles get my vote. I read some of the comments above and I have to disagree near some things:
1. Property taxes are much higher surrounded by Houston than in California.
2. Groceries are almost exactly alike.
3. Housing prices are much higher surrounded by California, but the costs of other things are much lower (electric bills are lower because it's not nearly as hot and the air conditioners don't enjoy to run 24/7).
4. People in standard are much fatter/heavier in Houston than within Los Angeles. I'm not sure why that is as near are just as copious restaurants, fast food places, etc., surrounded by Southern California. But I think it may own to do with the certainty that it is so incredibly hot and humid in Houston contained by the summer that many empire do not get outside to exercise as recurrently. Living near the seaside in Los Angeles may prompt population to stay thin and within better shape as it "shows" more.
5. The people are friendlier contained by Houston - and the rodeos are MUCH better !!
6. Houston has brick houses and more property per house - Los Angeles have stucco houses and small properties.
