PERSONAL OPINION:
I construe it's not so much a glass ceiling as a self-imposed choice - you can any have a enthusiasm, have children & incline them or advance contained by your career. For example, I enjoy gone for nearly a month without a time off previously.

Well...I've been a Night Manager at a hotel for a bit over five years. So I manifestly consider myself an insider. Catch 22. Beyond that, housekeeping is the most thankless post in a hotel. Housekeepers see closely; they also have to verbs up some unholy messes and usually don't get even a thank you. Mind you, you'll also find some guests are big tippers, but these are more normally than not the exception to the rule. Hotel employees surrounded by general see closely, as you can imagine; you seize all sorts of inhabitants as guests, and a lot tend to go on up within those rooms. And again that rule applies across the board.
As a five year veteran of the business, it never ceases to amaze me how copious guests blatantly try to insult the intelligence of the front desk agents. However, the genuineness of the hotel industry is that though most hotels claim a "100% Satisfaction Guarantee", on a good afternoon they can maybe oversee 70%. A lot of it comes down to the bean counters though, and unfortunately they can be disgracefully tight with the bucks when they want to be. Trouble is, this is most habitually when the hotel needs the bucks the most (renovations, media hype, etc...)
