It dosnt matter if it is a deceptive cashiers check ,fake money writ or fake company check...at the stop of the day it is a copy of the genuine thing.
The best course I can think of is to phone the issuing bank and quiry the check (account number,cross etc)
Scammers will make checks beside their own phone number as the issuing bank so it is better to turn out for the telephone number on the internet.
There is one sure channel of telling if a check is definite.
Its called the stranger check.
Walk out in your street and ask the first stranger you bump into if they would cash your check for $50 dollars.
