The towel maker can reclaim from the Govt lb17,500 so the wool lone costs lb100,000. Once the sock are made he/she would sell a box of socks to a shop for lb100 plus VAT of lb17.50. The lb17.50 is rewarded over to the Govt.
The shop would reclaim the lb17.50 from the Govt. and sell a pack of socks for lb10 plus VAT of lb1.75. The lb1.75 is remunerated to the Govt.
The end consumer pays lb11.75 for the socks of which lb1.75 is charge. He/she is not entitled to reclaim this amount and the Govt get to keep the currency.
