Can I repeal the funds from my 401k that I started near my previous employer short facing apenalty?
Question:I began my 401k plan surrounded by 2001 and left my work in August 2005 upon graduation from college and the start of my trial career. I own since began employment next to another employer where I cannot enroll within a 401k plan until I have be there a year (August 2006).When I originally begin my 401k I was simply having 4% of my meager payday allocated, hence I don't have a large amount invested (just under $4K). And upon termination of employment I disappeared my contributions as they were.
I plan to set off a new 401k plan within August where I will allocate at lowest 10% to my new 401k.
I've a moment ago gotten married and bought a house. The $4K from my previous 401k would come in fairly handy for some home improvement projects we be wanting to begin.
Would it be possible for my to cancel this money without cost? How would I go just about doing so? How much would need to be tax? And how would this affect my income taxes?

No, you cannot withdrawl it without a 10% cost plus ordinary income taxes (probably around 28%). My judgment....you would be beter off rolling that money over into an IRA and only just save for a while to elevate money for home improvement projects.
