Ford and General Motors don't own billions of dollars sitting in the wall to open 100 factory. They have to progress to the banks to bring the money they need to built them.
If the interests are too low. All the companies within the United States of America will ask all the bank billions and billions of dollars to build more factories and that would increase prices.
On the other foot, if the interests are too high. Nobody is going to step to the bank to apply for a loan.
This is the foremost reason here is not a Wall protecting the border or a million of Border Patrol Agents.
If the mexicans cannot cross the border all the companies would hold to hire Americans (At a minimum of $5.15 USD per hour) and that would reduce profits for the companies and that would slow the reduction to a crawl.
The mexicans keep the wages low because if an American is fired a mexican can be hired.
If a company cannot hire a mexican (because here is a wall) the company would have to steal an hand from another company and that would cause everybody to take home $10.30 USD per hour (As opposed to $5.15) and that would alarm away all the Foreign Companies and they would move to India, China and as expected Mexico.
