I bought a music production mixer on e-bay, and had it shipped to me on my UPS side so I am the shipper and the receiver. I bought insurance on it also from UPS. It arrived broken. UPS will not rate the claim on it because they say it be not packaged ably enough. I agree it could own be packaged better for such a fragil piece of equipment but UPS ripped one side of the box rotten and smashed in the other, they could of handle it better. The seller isn't taking responsibility any. I had no control over the covering or shipping but because I paid for the shipping I come across to be stuck with a terribly expensive yet broken mechanism. I beleive either the salesperson or UPS should take responsibility. What do I do?Answers:
If I be the seller, I would repayment your money and take responsibility. It is the seller's shortcoming for not packaging the fabric sufficiently. When UPS says that they are not liable because of poor paper even if you paid insurance, you'll hold a really really hard time to collect from them
How did you recompense for the merchandise? If you paid by Paypal, complain to them and check their procedures for getting your money hindmost. Check if your purchase is covered by their Buyer Protection Plan.
If you paid by credit card, complain to the credit card company and initiate a chargeback. It will filch about 30 days or more (American Express for example wait until 90 days or until the other party responds), but you can bring back the money.
Next time, if you are purchasing a high lapse item on ebay, make sure you use a credit card. Good luck and hope you attain back your money.
