How exactly do T-Bills work?
trying to make the most of my money, but info on the web is sketchy and talks close to a wall street banker. i stipulation it put into plain english. all details such as: where on earth can it be purchased, does it rollover, does intrest compound,...etc...Answers: First, you can purchase T-bills directly from the Dept. of Treasury, a U.S. bank, broker or peddler. T-bill are usually sold at a discount meaning a $10,000 t-bill may public sale for $9,000. But you will be paid the full $10,000 and $1,000 is considered your interest income. They come within 4, 13 and 26 week terms. They could possibly be reinvested if you enjoy an account beside a broker or Treasury Direct. I hope this helps.
I cannot wait until bankruptcy is discharged, anyone know what the creditors ask?
Answers: Well, if you are tired of being in the Bankruptcy, that means you are probably in a Ch 13. Call your creditors. Let them know that you are thinking about dismissing your case. Ask them if they are willing to settle. But do your homework first.
For example, let's say you bought your car in 2000, then go to NADA.com and find out what the retail value is, call your car loan company and ask them if you can settle for retail value or a lower payoff amount.
Call your credit card companies as well. Most of them are willing to settle.
The creditors want their money! You can ask each one what they will take, but they almost always want 100%......you are some what stuck! I have been there, and creditors can be real ...! Even when faced with accepting less than 10% at bankruptcy. Opps, mine was before the newer laws, but I am sure the creditors haven't changed one bit.
