If you have 30k, what would you do to increase your money?

Answers: Since we are nearing a possible recession I would be hesitant to put your life savings into the stock market. I would put it in a high yield savings account of short term CD (3-6 months). Countrywide Bank is offering 5.3% for savings and 5.5% for CDs. You'd be making $1600/year!
pay off bills , credit slave cards, car loans.
guaranteed return on investment of up to 32%.
burn up credit slave cards, put 2000$ away fo emergencies. put 3month operating expenses away. have a wicked weekend.
invest in my education - best ROI.
Pay off any credit card debt and put the rest into an FDIC insured CD. There are risk-free cds out there in case you need access, but their rate is a little lower than a fixed term cd.

If I repay $100 per month for 12 months on a $1000 loan...?

How much interest did I pay for the loan?

Answers: According to MS Excel, the monthly rate is 3%. That would be 36% annually.
24%

Is it wise for married couple to have joint checking acct if one has good, the other has bad credit rating?

Answers: credit company's do not care about that kind of thing...All a checking account is a place to store money for bills ect. There is just one thing that I can think of that would affect and that is if you desire bounce protection on the account. To trick this get the account and add credit protection then add the one with bad credit to the checking account. This will also build the credit of the one with bad credit and will not decrease yours as long as it is used correctly (ie no non or late payments)
No, you'll end up paying more fees that way.

Have separate accounts.
I'm a firm believer of married couples sharing a checking account and doing the family budget together. You need to work together as a team and commit to a financial plan. Sharing the financial responsibilities will improve your communication because you always need to work on your budget. Don't worry about the credit rating; it's all a scam anyway.
