How much does it cost total to file for bankruptcy? Is all debt erased?
Answers: about 300 for court costs/fees and up to 1500 for a lawyer -- as for dismissal of debts depends on court -- some debts (student loans -- back taxes) are not covered!
File for bankruptcy while not in debt, and the cost of it will put you into bankruptcy and it's all self-fulfilling. OK, just kidding.
The debt isn't erased really. It's just not owed.
A lot of loans these days, however, have in the fine print that you agree not to file for bankruptcy, or include the debt in a bankruptcy claim, so you'll have to check and see if any of your debts had that clause in the paperwork.
ewww. Here is another bankruptcy question. I hate it! People don't realize BANKRUPTCY is like the nuclear bomb to your credit report!

It works like this, you sign up for assorted, mostly online services(of which many are free) and consequently they send you money base on how many you do.
