Reputible companies both online and off will NEVER ask you for your password. They also will not call you and ask for your account numbers, etc.
If you are EVER in doubt that a company who calls you or emails you is legit. Tell them you will call them back. Then don't use the number they give you. Look up there customer service number and call that.or through the computer, go to their main site, NOT through the link they provide, but through your normal channels of accessing the site.
As far as your specific letter. Do you do business with Nation Wide Bank? If you do, again, go to your branch with the letter. If not, then do yourself a favor and shred what you received.

If that's your disposable income (IE the money you have AFTER all bills,rent etc paid) then I would say yes it is a larger amount than most people where I am have to spend each month.
Mine was only ever about £100 a month and I was on £20k a year but our rent is expensive (although cheap for where we are) and nowadays it's more like £10 lol so £600 is a great amount to have left over each month for us!
