Personal Finance Questions and Answers

Spending money I shouldn't?

Ok, I'm an 18 yr old college student beside a spending problem. I just ALWAYS want to be doing some sort of shopping and discern sad when I'm not.

Major problem since my parents haven't given me money for similar to 2 yrs. so I support myself with my min. wage errand, plus I go to university. D:

I just get paid and hold $400 in my guard. (Maybe like $200 something after payin bills).

How do I control my urge to spend and start good money? (I have almost $300 on my credit card too...lol. But no interest so yah.)

Advice? Saving money is so intricate. D:

Answers: You should probably get three more credit cards similar to most other 18 years olds have. You are track behind girl.

$300 surrounded by debt? That's nothing. You're an amateur.

Isn't within a $500 purse you want? What about a designer jacket? Do you hold an iPhone? Don't deprive yourself, you should have those things. You owe it to yourself to be for a moment more self-centered. There are 16 year olds out there beside more debt than you.

I hope that helped you see the sillyness of your situation.

One single ounce of discipline will clear you of adjectives debt.

Just prioritze your spending and reconsider what is really earth-shattering. Use common sense.

.
This is natural...STOP!

Try putting a budget together...MS Excel has a template that works great. Allow yourself a LITTLE money for spending so you don't jump crazy.

What would be even better is if get a illegal shopper job. These job are in constraint, a little easier said than done to get, but everything you buy is reimbursed to you, and you maintain what ever you buy! You're making money and getting a free shopping spree! Now, you can't always shop at the your favorite stores, but you may find places to shop where on earth you can get stuff you obligation and want!

Try looking into that route..Good luck..
Go Shopping all you want, but take off your credit cards at home. For things you want to buy, put them on a list, and at the wind up of each week prioritize the must haves and the must wait. Then figure out a budget on how to set free for them.

Be careful next to the credit card, they may extend your limet and before you know it, the o% interest will be gone, consequently what will you do when you are paying 12% or more.

Keep track of your spending. In college you may be spending too much on food as well.

Find other things that can trade name you happy. We go to the park and library alot to hang out. It merely sounds sad if you form it sad. Plan the outings to do homework, games, read, or other happenings.

Believe me, quiet time at the park or library will unruffled your soul and help you appreciate energy as it really is. No material things at a busy shopping arcade can make you thankful.

Build freindships, excersize your brain and body. Nobody finishes college and says "I longing I had spent more time at the MALL". The college probably offer free or low cost group activities resembling sports, movies, plays, games, arts, chorus, etc.

We spent hours playing cards, like heart and spades, which require a team endeavour. Cards only cost $1.

People are happiest when they know they contribute an historic part to someones vivacity. And that usually costs nothing but your time.

Try finding something more eloquent to do with your time than shopping. Get interested surrounded by something that will take up more of your time and afford you fulfillment.
Shopping is superficial. It is only when you find something to replace it that 'matters' to you, that you will see your little craving for what it is..
Not spending money and saving lone becomes confident when it triggers an emotional response from you. When you believe it is prominent enough to do, after you will do it. There aren't any magic tips to in your favour; it is just something to be exact done when it becomes key enough.

Take the following example: if someone you care about be going to die unless you saved $2,000 within 6 months, and you were the one and only one who could save this creature, do you think you could store? Of course you could. That event would trigger in your a response that would force you to release.

You have to gentle of look at that person who might die as yourself. Think to yourself: if I don't start making in your favour an important cut of my life, where on earth will I be in 10 years; 20 years; 40 years; when I retire?

You've already gotten a couple of honourable answers.

In addition to their direction, consider shopping at cheaper places: used bookstores, garage sales, thrift stores. Only bring currency so you limit what you spend. If it's the thrill of the hunt you approaching, you can spend a lot smaller amount on used merchandise than by paying retail prices. And with used stores, you never know what you might come across. It's kind of approaching a treasure hunt. You probably know the saying: one man's trash is another man's treasure.

Also, if you are contained by need of items, check your local Craigslist.org site contained by the "Free" section below the "For Sale" heading. Also join your local Freecycle. There's closely that you can get free for the taking.

Stop using those credit cards. They are unpromising news and a slippery slope.

I know college students tend not to look for extra reading, but your local suggestion librarian could probably refer you to self-help books for shopaholics/spendaholics/compulsive shoppers. You don't want this to develop into a serious problem that could negatively affect your future, so "nip it within the bud."

You might find a free or low-cost counselor to help you work through passionate issues that tie in beside your desire to spend. To some extent, I think the shopping urge is a unconscious one for women, but it can get widespread and destroy people's finances and relationships. Also, shopaholics' living environments can sometimes bring filled up near too much stuff, and thus become cluttered and depressing.

It's definitely a honourable idea to find alternate ways of have fun that don't involve spending any money, or at least intensely little money. A second-run movie theater costs very little, as do board games, card games, walking next to friends in the park, have friends over to enjoy a fondue and a movie from the library, etc.

Get yourself used to the conception that you don't need to own things within order to relish them. I can browse in a store and soak up seeing many fresh or cute things; I can enjoy looking at them and commenting on them, but in recent times because I like them doesn't anticipate I need to clutch them home and keep them and HAVE them.

There is seriously of stuff in energy, and if you try to hold on to everything good you see, you'll eventually become overwhelmed. Just because something is correct does not mean it is correct FOR YOU.

Learn to enjoy stuff next to an open foot instead of tightly clenching on to it. This will diminish your urge to buy, and enable you to be a gully of blessings to others, passing on what you no longer want or requirement, so that you don't become like a stagnant pond but are fairly like a flowing river. You've probably also hear the saying, "When the mitt is open to make a contribution, it is open to receive."

Learn to share--both by giving some of your stuff away, and by borrowing items you obligation temporarily and then returning them to their rightful owner.

Learn to convenience the beauty of space, space for its own sake, breathing room not clogged next to STUFF.

All the stuff you see in your time is relatively transitory. Stuff breaks and wears out, become obsolete, become shabby. After you've bought it, the satisfaction rank goes down. Relationships are the push button to enjoying natural life. Focus on relationships with nation, not filling those clean spaces up with stuff that won't finishing.

If you need to develop more righteous relationships, consider volunteering somewhere that is shrewd to you, or look for churches, clubs or organizations where on earth you might have shared interests beside its members.

An example of one possible collective is Toastmasters, which gives its member instruction and practice in public speaking, a markedly useful professional skill to hold.

Find low-cost hobbies you enjoy (that won't clutter up your life). And find others whom you can savour the hobby with.
CUT UP THE CREDIT CARD.

If you budget your money, and next keep overspending, you don't hold a financial problem, you have an addiction.

If you won $100 Million USD or £50 Million GBP Lottery what would you buy?

Answers: Buy all Edison 1300+ pictures from you. :P
An Audi R8, Disney Time Share, House by the lake.

Save 9 Mil to live off

Give the other 90 Mil to charity.
An apartment over-looking Central Park...and a flown-in Italian pizza with a bottle of fine St Emillion.

I would sit on my balcony and plan the rest of my life.
first i would buy a fantastic holiday home in Florida, then i would buy some land and have a fantastic house built with indoor swimming pool.
give a million to each of my relatives, and pay off all my
friends mortgages and treat them all to a holiday of their choice with spends (plenty of it).
oh what a lovely dream this would be.
ps. i would give some to charity
First, I'd pay off all my debt Then I'd buy a reallly nice luxury car, maybe a bentley continental gt and a SUV. I would buy a house in NJ for my my boyfriend and I and get engaged! :) I would go on a trip to a very exotic place, maybe Tahiti.

I'd give my boyfriend a portion of my winnings and give some money, a few million each to my parents and my brother. I'd give a portion to split between my relatives (my mom's 6 sisters), but I would give larger portion to my cousin, who I'm really close too and couple friends.

I's also give money to a charity and invest some of the money ofcourse.

Can i ask for more money on my home loan? want to settle up rotten my coup¨¦?

well Im looking to buy a house for say-so 250k and is work 300k can i get aditional 50k to wage off the loan beforehand i sign any thing? i want to pay envelope off my motor and some other billz. ive been aproved already for my home loan.

Answers: Yes, this is possible..Only if you are approved for the extra brass though. But the higher loan to utility ratio, the more it's going to cost you.

You may ask about a 250K loan and a second mortgage/line of credit. Especially if you don't entail to use the entire $50K. These are just resembling checkbooks, except you are spending the equity you have within your house. You do have to income this back though. However, it may be a sophisticated interest rate. I would reccomend accelerating your payoff on the other bills...What I aim is pay extra on the top interest bills (like credit cards). Start with the untouchable interest bill. Pay extra until you get it rewarded off. Then help yourself to all the money (payment + optional you paid) and apply it to the next bill...Then the subsequent, then the subsequent and so on..You would be surprised at how fast you can retribution these bills off, plus how much interest you would store.
