"free" grant money--does this really exist? let me know the true free sites-please.?

Answers: Don't believe everything you see and hear about grants -- there are lots of lies that scammers spread about grants hoping that you'd fall for it -- and pay them or give them your personal information

The truth is that the government is NOT in the business of giving away free money for the sake of giving away money. There are no grants for paying bills, no grants for paying off credit cards, no grants for getting out of debt and no grants for simply fattening your wallet.

Grants are free, but it means OBLIGATION. You will be obligated to do as the grant sets out to do. Grants have objectives, and your purpose must fit the objective of the grant.

For one, you have to write the grant application and the grant application is not a simple document - you have to explain how your purpose for applying for the grant fits well with the objectives set out by the grant.

There is a stringent review process through a committee. You will compete with other applicants for the grant money, and this grant review committee will evaluate the merits of each proposal. Only those that they feel exemplifies the objective of the grant will be approved.

You can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov - these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support your purposes.

Even if you buy books on "how to get grants" or list that supposedly has information on grants -- all of them are mere rehash of what CFDA has, albeit packaged differently.

Note though that these grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments. Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT - Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program. Individuals especially for personal purposes are not eligible for federal grants.

Grants are also often given to non profit groups or organizations involved in training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women's Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women's business center that will train women entrepreneurs
For individuals to pay personal bills: NO!

What credit card company do you abhor the most? and why?

I don't like Bank of America, Chase Manhatten, or Capital One.

I finally get my Capital One card paid past its sell-by date! Capital One doesn't own me any more! Never had a card next to Chase or Bank of America but I've known inhabitants that did and really got screwed over by them.

Answers: They are adjectives awful. And since they bought Congress they can do whatever they resembling to us. I have have my limit raise and dropped without spot or any reason, ...newly awful.
Capital one

they CONSTANTLY send those crappy incentives
MBNA (Owned by Bank of America)

They maintain deceptively trying to make general public use their Cash Advance check (trying to hide their $7.50 +1% transaction excise and immediate interest charges). Also they hold on to targeting University Students at my institution (University of Alberta) and rather than promote tough spending habits, they try to clear us pay minimum payments near "Take a payment holiday!" etc. etc.
Capital One is at the top of my record, followed by American Express. Capital One has the slogan of "no hassle" bank. Yeah, right! Every week I get those stupid convenience checks mail to me, at least once.

American Express for not considering me for a hot account despite have a good credit rack up 4 years since filing for chapter 7. However, I do nick responsibility for my own actions.

I in a minute have an information with Citibank and close to them very powerfully so far.

Answers: Don't listen to Webmailz. In reality the CPP is very fine and has be gaining of unpunctually 6~10% returns each year. CPP isn't a voluntary program though. It is mandatory and the contributions are set to distribute payouts that will only oblige support your retirement, but not to fund it entirely.

1- The maximum and only contributable amount is 4.95% of your wage automatically deduct up until $44,900. Anything over, no more is taken off your retribution cheque. Also, your employer matches the contributions. I guess though the means of access to maximize your payout would be when you start collecting. You can start collecting from 55 to 71 years old. I guess technically if you retire at 71, you receive the most as you would enjoy saved up more overtime.

2- The contribution amount have been increasing lately beside the lowering of Employment Insurance. Canadian Pension Payments are based on Consumer Price Index so it will payout beside inflation. Will increase over time.

3- You don't apply. It is automatic and every Canadian over 18 must pay it unless it is income that Pension does not apply to. If you own a Social Insurance Number, your plan is already set as soon as you start work.

4- Yes. You will be paid. In that baggage, you would have to contact Canada Revenue Agency www.cra.gc.ca.

5- The amount you pay packet to get max is deeply as long as you earn $44,900 in a year. You can't set your own contributions.

6- Yes. You are allowed to invest near any other pension or retirement fund. You would unsophisticatedly set up an RRSP or savings plan near a bank or investment company. CPP is primarily a small manadatory contribution that every Canadian must take a factor of. If you want to contribute to a government allowance plan set up, I suggest www.saskpension.com Saskatchewan Pension Plan. You do not have to be a citizen of Saskatchewan to assist and it is income tax deductible. You set it up and contribute any amount up to $600 respectively year. Also look out for employer sponsored savings and investment programs. Often these programs come beside employer contributed investments and these give freedom for you to choose how much to invest.

Hope that help. Going to Canada Revenue Agency website http://www.cra.gc.ca will help for any other question.
By the time you retire the Canada Pension Plan will no longer be around. It's in debt and broke right presently. Young working people today are funding the income payments of the retirees right now. If I be you I would not rely on any government programs to fund your retirement. It's too discouraging they force you to make payments on something you will never bring back.
