Will second ruin show on Credit Bureau?
First Bankruptcy in 1974-I be 18 yrs. old. Second ruin in 1997-discharged. This ruin is on the bureau but shows an incorrect discharge date of 2005. If I try to correct this will they bring up my first bankruptcy?Answers: I believe a ruin can stay on your credit report for up to 10 years. So, it is okay to correct the info for your second bankruptcy. In reality, you should point out to them that since it is so old, they should help yourself to it off completely. Don't verbs, they won't pick up the 1st bankruptcy because it is too elderly. Even if they do, they are obligated under the Fair Credit Reporting Act to help yourself to it off upon request by you. Closed items appear on your credit report for 7 years. Pull a copy of your credit report from the 3 bureaus.
