How Big Is Your QUICKEN File?

How big is your QUICKEN File? Mine is almost 20megs. Is that normal? Should I try to dampen the size?

Answers: My *.QDF file is 18.6 megs. I'm pretty involved with checking, credit cards, stash and brokerage.

The brokerage accounts, most likely, are the biggest offender (for me). I've seen no indignity in show. I've been using Quicken since the 1990's.

What is the best installer organiser about personal expense s or cash floc of cah in and cash out?

Answers: for personal use i would recomend quicken, If you are looking for small business / personal type go with quickbooks.
Both will let you do the same track expenses, billing, banking, invoicing, estimates and so on.

529 Plan...what counts against financial aid?

Okay...both sets of grandparents want my baby's ss# so that they can put money away for her. I'm grateful and thrilled. We're planning to open a 529 statement for her, partially because I bookish that this money won't be counted if she needs to apply for financial aid for college.

So, I'm wondering how to ask the grandparents to invest within a way that won't count against her within later aid applications. Since they own not talked to us nearly it, I'm assuming they don't want to put it in an vindication that we control. Otherwise, I would think they'd freshly give us the money to invest and parley to us about it.

So, can they enlarge a 529 plan in our state, contained by her name, if we already enjoy one? Should we coordinate with them to sympathetic plans in different states?

Or are here other investment options that they could use that would not be counted as assets on a financial aid application?

Thank you so much for your assist!

Answers: OK EVERYBODY CAN OPEN A PLAN -- BUT I WOULD NOT PUSH THE PLAN TOO MUCH = I WOULD EXPLAIN AND LET THE GRAND PARENTS CHOSE THE WAY THEY WANT TO INVEST!
From my understanding anyone can sympathetic a 529 plan for a minor child. Then the holder of the account would obtain the tax deduction (if your state allows).

And as far as I know, multiple plans do not count against aid, just close to only one.

Have the grandparents turn and talk to a financial advisor to bring back all the rules. Just net sure all of you view the plan for outrageous fees, some of them have fees difficult than your gains would be.

Congrats on clean baby!
