Do you pay your bills online or are you still putting the check in the mail?

Answers: Both
I pay as many as I can online.
Hate having to pay the government to pay my bills by buying and using stamps...stupid post office.
Only check I ever write any more is for rent. If I had mortgage that would be automatic too. Online lets you pay the bill on the day it is due. That way I keep my money in my interest bearing savings account as long as possible without chancing that a check gets delayed in the mail.
The only bills I don't pa online is my car payment, cause there's that whole coupon book thing.
some times I pay them on line but when I do the money soesnt ever seem to get there on time or something, I usually pay by phone unless there is a charge for it.
I can't stand having to write checks. I do all I can online.
I pay all my bills online. Most I pay through my bank because they mail the checks and I don't have to pay postage, its free. I only use the web site's if they don't charge any fee's. I have never had any problems.
No it's all done for you. I love it, plus when you pay credit card bills or utilites the funds are sometimes electronically transfered and posted in as little as 2 days.

Also I pay my rent this way. Set up the account with landlords name and address she gets a check in the mail I can do all my bills in 6 min.

Love it!
Only an idiot or someone from Arkansas is using snail mail to pay bills.
too bad for them...
I used to pay mine by paper bills, but I got sick and tired of the credit card companies telling me that they never got the bill or posting it to my account a day after it was due and charging me a late fee, so now everything is done online.
Online as much as possible. I don't remember the last time I wrote a check. Plus it saves on stamps.
Most online. We do mortgage in person because I drive right by the bank and then I have the receipt immediately. We also do utility bill in person because that office is a block away and I can walk or bike over.
online
I guess I'm still just a little old fashioned in some ways. All utilities that are not payable at a local office get mailed out. All that are local, get dropped in the night drop box. My car payment comes straight out of my paycheck at the end of every month since I work in the bank where the loan is.
Mostly online but some by check

Do you suppose it would be better if I move out of state this summer or subsequent summer?

I live in a small town here contained by Texas, & there isn't much opening opportunity. I'm getting very frustrated. I enjoy student loans to pay rotten, & my 6-month grace period is up. I don't want to break my apartment lease, & it ends contained by June. I'm wondering if I should stay here until June 2009 or move out of state ASAP to go to conservatory in California or backbone to New York. Most people notify me I should go to Cali, since there's a highly developed demand for Spanish translators/interpreters than within NYC. I tried to go to academy in NY, but I have a horrible living situation. But I'd give ANYTHING to run back in attendance, ONLY if I can live alone. I know that's a lot of money, but it's better to be undamaging than to be in a rat & drug-infested neighborhood.

I'm on a fixed income right very soon, making $657/month, & my apt. rent is 1/2 my income, & I'm STRUGGLING! I have my BA amount in Spanish. I want to settle off my debts but I can't afford to. What should I do?

Do those credit consolidation companys hurt your credit?

I would like to use a credit consolidation of some sort to attain my creditors to work with me to wage down my debt. I know in the long run, my credit will develop because the debts will be paid, but I don't want it to look unpromising during the repair period. Any tips or information? Thanks surrounded by advance!

Answers: DON'T DO IT!

The proposal you are getting is COMPLETELY off basis. It may sound pleasant to right to be heard if you try to fix your credit it can't be bad. In certainty it is quite fruitless, especially if you go to the wrong place.

The "credit counseling" services industry is amazingly shady. They take populace who are having difficulty paying their bills, charge them substantial amounts of money and are essentially enjoy no more ability to "fix your credit" than you do, despite their commonly outlandish promises. What they often do to "fix your credit" is to dispute adjectives negative reportings on your record. If they file disputes on your behalf on legal credit issues , those reports will be reaffirmed within 30 days and will wrap up up right back on your credit report. So it is not fixing anything. They can attempt to negotiate lower rates beside your credit card companies, but you can do this yourself. IF they get a credit card company to adopt less than you owe them the creditor will report to the credit bureaus as "profit and loss" writeoff. This KILLS your credit. It is akin to maxim "this person is contained by such a poor fiscal position that we did not feel they would ever know how to repay us so we took what little we thought we could get". So next time you apply for credit and the prospective creditor see this how do you think they will respond? Not favorably. For getting adjectives these benefits you will have the privilege of paying from $400-$1000 (or however much they conjecture they can get from you). So when they harmonize your debts and have you foot off your debt near a single payment, the first portion will stir to them, then the rest to your assorted bills putting you further at the back than when you started. Basically, these people are rabble and prey on people contained by real requirement. RUN AWAY.

What you should do
*Check your credit. See exactly what creditors see when you ask them for money. Gov't supported site with FREE credit reports: https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/i...

*Contact a management credit counseling center. They are non-profit offices that do not require stipend for their help. They are validly interested in your best interests (it looks resembling this is what another post went to). If someone is selling RUN AWAY, it is a for-profit company and right now you cannot support more debt.

*Contact your assorted creditors and negotiate a rate decline. Ask if they would be willing to reverse any fees. DO NOT ask them to whip less. As I stated quicker, a P&L Writeoff is brutal on the credit score and for prospective creditors to see.

*Schedule an appointment next to your banker at your dune /credit union. They will (atleast should) minister to you with any possible consolidation option and give you information on how to start repairing that troubled credit.

Good luck!
If your asking if you need a credit consolidation company, Run, don't waddle to a credit consolidation company...Hurry!
You won't look bad if you are repairing your credit. And beside any luck at all, you will swot up how to control your credit addiction...
No it can only augment your credit, at least after a time. I used one some time ago and they be quite perfect. The one I used was sponsored by the state so I know it would be reputable. I didn't end up paying them anything, at the first get-together they showed me what they intended to do and how they would do it and suggested that I try to handle it myself, which I did and everything worked out fine. What have to be done is negotiate with the creditors to waive delayed fees, reduce the interest rate and forgive any other penalty like over mark out. I do suggest you go see one of them and weigh if it is worth paying them (it be going to cost me $25 a month if they did it) or if you think you can toy with the negotiations yourself. Good luck!
