College Savings Bonds?
When I was a babe or young child my aunts and uncles would get hold of me Illinois College Savings Bonds I believe I have close to 1,000 in funds. i am now 18, i asked my parents be they are they said they dont know and there should be a site online probably be you can enter your ss. How can I get this money? I am 18 immediately, also does it have to be used towards college or could i buy a laptop for college beside it? what if my parents cashed them?Answers: Call your state treasurer at 217-524-0377 and explain the situation. They may be able to look them up by your SSN or mark -- BUT, normally the bonds be registered to the person who purchased them. (Unlike US Savings Bonds, which are normally registered to a child when purchased.)
You might have to approach those aunts and uncles to see if they could chase them down.

They should know how to look that up, assuming you can't find it by typing in the number + "routing number" when doing a search out... Contact the company that handled the echeck IF they hold a fraud policy... If not, youre SOL on that front... Then file a police report... Finally, chalk it up to experience...
