Retirement Calculation. Verifying my division, Help?

Question:
Need to prepare a savings agenda for a retirement plan. Today your client is turning 25. He wants to retire at 65 and expects to live until 80. On his 66th birthday he requests to withdraw 50k annually until (and including) the 80th birthday. Starting subsequent month and ending on the 65th birthday he requests to make equal monthly deposits that would ensure that he is competent to withdraw the desired amount. Calcualte if the itnerest is 10% APR. How much would monthly depost be?

Answer:
I own to make a couple of assumptions.

1.) The 50k is 50k contained by future dollars and doesn't call for to be adjusted upwards for the 40 years of inflation
2.) The 50k will be taken out as a lump sum every year, not surrounded by monthly installments.
3.) The client continues to earn 10% on his assets between the ages of 65 and 80

If those hold, he will need 380,304 on his 65th birthday. In proclaim to get here he will need to deposit $859.26 annually.
Sounds approaching a homework question.
at lowest reword the problem your teacher give you so that it doesn't sound close to a HW problem
From 25 to 65 he needs to set free $5200.00 per year ($433.00/month) w/10% earning interest to hold $750,000.00 at age 65 to have 50k per year (with no risk) from 65 to 80.

He will truly have 2.5 million dollars, but after inflation adjustment of 3%, it results within only 750k spending power; contained by 40 years.

Retirement stash?

Question:
I have $8k within a roth IRA now. I'm 23, a short time ago starting out and I'm a long way from getting in attendance...

How much do I need to pick up to retire at around 50 with an income of around $50,000 within today's dollars?

Answer:
they say you should pilfer no more than 5% of your nest egg out per year.......so you would need in the order of 1million in hoard....BUT this changes if you retire untimely......retiring at 50 is a great goal but completely hard to do......biddable luck thinking about this at 23 label you a smart man..
What I'd recommend is that you use a retirement planner such as Quicken builds into their programs. Many investment houses also have retirement planners. Too several variables for us to answer.
Here are some links from the Suze Orman site that should easily backing you. Good luck; and You are very smart for instigation early!
Yahoo! Finance 'retirement' calculator

http://finance.yahoo.com/calculator/reti...
First _ BIG KUDOS for thinking and acting very soon. You don;t know how many 45-y/o couples are sitting exactly where on earth you are - which 2 kids about to enter college.

Bad communication: You can't get in that with a Roth alone. The max you can put into a Roth respectively year is $4k (until you are 50, then it rises to $5k). Run the numbers surrounded by a calculator or in Excel:
start near $8k
add $4k/yr
compound it by 8% (achievable rate of return)
do it again and again for 27 more years, until you are 50....the total is in the region of $450k. Not enough to bring $50k/yr out for life.

Also - $50k contained by 2034 (27 yrs from now) is worth about $19.7k contained by today's dollars (assuming only 3.5%/yr inflation).

Best formula I've see, and again Excel is handy for playing around: put away pre-tax AT LEAST 10% of all profits for your entire life. Invest it 80/20 stocks/bonds. NEVER touch it. Start at age 25 - when you retire at 65 you should enjoy enough save to replace your paycheck at retirment and live on the money another 30 yrs before running out.

If you are not abiding at least 10% of your paycheck, you will regret it after that - and 15% is better. Pay yourself before you buy that BMW.
How long does that annual-50k have need of to last?

Until your 100?
Until your 80?

There is a 40-year investment calculator at the URL below. Enter your age, current hoard level, annual additions, ROI, and an inflation rate and it predicts your spending power when you want to retire.

It is certainly the best calculator I have found on the network for calculating this.

Good luck!
It's all nearly assumptions.
Yours given above, starting with $8k, assuming you are making 50k immediately and want to retire on the same 50K surrounded by today's $$$s at age 50 and want it to last till you are 85.

You necessitate to put away 17.5% of your annual income every year, starting at $50k now assuming you'll carry raises and still contribute 17.5%. So that's $9750 the first year.

You obligation to have an aggressive 12% return until you are 50 and a 6% return after you retire.

This also assumes you'll attain no social security.
You can progress to http://www.josephsangl.com/wp-content/up... to calculate that number.

In with alacrity running your numbers, with$50,000 with 4% inflation within 27 years will be $144,168.

If you estimate that you will be receiving 8% interest on your money and 4% inflation every year, you necessitate $3,604,211 in your nest egg.

If you gain 12% on your $8,000, you will entail to invest an additional $1,411/month to pull off the $3,604,000.

Have fun! Great start! You are in the top 1% of your peers on retirement reserves!
You need to study your spending as much as your savings. By spending sagaciously you can actually let go hundreds and then thousands over a spell of time!

How do you start and prepare a personal budget?

Question:

Answer:
This site literally has step by step instructions.

http://www.ehow.com/how_9701_create-simp...
Go to a bookstore & look for Personal Finance books. Suze Orman is probably your best bet for a personal budget. . .
List what money you own coming in, and after list adjectives money going out.
You can see what you need to live on, what you can do minus, and what you can splurge on ! (once in a while, anyway).

Then live properly.
Here is part of what I read surrounded by a Ric Edelman book, "The Truth About Money": Get a composition notebook, do this for six months, write in column one money specifically coming in- does not matter from where on earth, take adjectives your bills that come in monthly, account the company name, how much is owed, how much you in actual fact paid, and the type of bill(mortgage, electric, scrap, water, etc.), when you buy groceries roll it out, when you go to the movies, document it out, when you get a slurpee enumerate it, when you get a big mac roll it. Do this for six months. Review it every month. Put your bills at top, then the core areas that keep popping up, and finally the little pieces of money that tend to exit when we want something. Add up what comes in subtract what go out. Now figure out what you can cut out

ATM Deposits?

Question:
Does anyone know, I am overdrawn on my credit union sketch and want to deposit cash through the ATM tonight, earlier anymore withdrawals come through. If I deposit it tonight after sandbank hours, but before midnight, will it show a positive set off so I don't get charged any other fees? Thanks contained by advance

Answer:
It depends on your bank institution. I know what you mean. I have a similar situation with me up to that time. I knew my mound only took deposits at the ATM until that time 6pm the same year to be credited the next light of day. So if I was overdrawn for similar to $100, I will need to deposit something formerly 6pm like $150, so I won't catch charged any insufficient funds fees which were $35. If it be after 6pm and I deposited the $150, I still get charged the duty because it be deposited the following day. So you should check near your bank to see when is the cutoff time for deposits at them ATM. Depositing up to that time midnight doesn't work, you'll get charged the tax, you have to ask you guard when they cutoff time is for deposits to be credited the next afternoon. I hope you make it surrounded by time, it's really hard for populace that this happens too, surrounded by one sense you are broke and the banks see you while you're down just to net more $ off you.
No. ATM deposits are not credited to your article until the bank in truth goes outside and get your deposit. You will still be charged, unfortunately. Perhaps if you sermon to your bank they will rob off some of the charges, as the hill that I work at does (but very now and then.) So you may have some luck in attendance...
Better to hand pass your cash to the dune first thing tomorrow and speak to a representative. Almost any appropriate bank will work near you if you have not made it a infatuation. If you make any deposit at the ATM after the Bank's cutoff time which is typically sometime contained by the afternoon, it probably won't post in time. Ask the guard to waive any fees and they most likely will. Good luck.
I enjoy an account near Bank of America and with ATM deposits, up to $100 other clears at deposit time, the rest clears later. So if you are writing give or take a few a BoA account, and you be not overdrawn yesterday, just today, and you are over by smaller amount than $100, go net your ATM deposit before midnight.
Good luck.
It will depend on your bank policy. Some banks will credit your commentary for the first $100 at time of deposit, the rest will be processed in due time. Some other bank will only see the first $100 if deposited during regular hours. Some other will not credit your account until the checks clear. Please facts that clearing process can vary closely from bank to mound. The best would be to deposit the checks in personage. Some bank will process it inside hours if handled by a banker.

I enjoy an opportunity to adopt $250K in a minute, or $40K a year for the rest of my go, starting within 7 years.?

Question:
Which is the best option?

Answer:
Difficult to answer, it depends on plentifully of variables. What is your discount rate? What is your life expectancy? Who is paying you (are they creditworthy)?

Assuming you live until 75, it's give or take a few break even at an 9% expected return on your money. If you can reinvest $250,000 at better than 9% over the next 45 years, you should pinch the money now. This is a pretty big return hurdle so taking $40,000 generally looks attractive. While underliving 75 hurts the return, it's not horrifically sensitive unless. You only "lose" $40,000 of worth if you die at 55. It will only be a generous opportunity loss if you die very childish. On the flip side you could live until 95 and it would be a major actuarial win. I would consider buying residence insurance for the next 10 yrs of your vivacity if you take the deferred buy and sell.

The riskiness of the $40,000 obviously will be impacted by who is offering to retribution. Is this a triple-A insurance company or someone sketchy?

There are also tax implication which I haven't factored in.
how antediluvian are you.

take the money immediately and invest it
the 40k in 7 years
most will blow a big chunk of money right bad the bat and have zilch to show for it.
where as a annuity paying a consistent amount can be duly and sagaciously invested knowing you have an steady influx of money
You will come out better near the 40K per year. If you are under 30 this would by far be the best remedy. In only 7 years you will be ahead. Invest piece wisely and you can retire at a pretty youthful age. If you invest the 250K now you probably won't come out pretty as well and short the guaranteed income. Good luck.
If you take the 250k and invest it and draw from an 8% return in 7 years you will hold almost 400k. At that point at 8% within 2 years you will earn more than 40k per year surrounded by interest plus have the 400k. If you are 75 years frail just pilfer the money and blow it.
Don't forget inflation. 250k now will be worth possibly 220k in 7 years, so your 40k will lone be like 35k contained by 7 years. I'm not saying you should progress one way or another, but don't forget to consider this.
Assuming you don't desperately involve the money now and assuming the $40k for the rest of your go is a reliable thing (in other words, reducing this to newly a math question), it's a question of (a) your rate of return on an investment and (b) how long you expect to live.

The $250k right immediately is the better idea if you regard you only own five years to live. :-) But you're 30 and will live another 50 years, probably. At an 8% return, the $40k per year passes the $250 immediately after 27 years. That seems resembling a long way rotten, but it wins by in the order of $2,000,000 after 50 years. :-)

I hope you're actually within this situation and not speaking in estimated scenarios . . .

Credit ranking of 730. Great or in recent times fully clad?

Question:

Answer:
The FICO score extent is 300 to 850. Your score is impressively good. They remains approval on ranges (300 - 450, 451 - 550, etc). Anything above 750 is pretty much pointless; other than looking really cool. At that point, you get hold of the same rate as the guy w/ 825. Hence, you are at the 2nd extreme level available. Excellent!
