We did, until we started writing down where our money be going too. We found that a lot be going places that we could cut back on ie ingestion out and clothes. Now, I freecycle my clothes and get really natty stuff also. My kids clothes is bought at GoodWill and also freecycle. We love to drink tim horton's coffee and that too was getting pricy at month finish off. so now we buy the coffee tins and the milk surrounded by the cans and it taste about alike. Hope that helps

Every paycheck, we put the budgeted amount of currency in respectively envelope. Then, when it's time to buy clothes, we can only spend what's contained by the clothing envelope. Once the envelope is empty, you can't buy anymore clothes.
I vote you have to be disciplined because it would be amazingly easy to help yourself to cash from the auto repair envelope to be in motion out to eat. But afterwards again, it's your money and you get to spend it however you see fit, so if that's what you want to do, you can. It have certainly kept us from overspending within any particular category.
