My dad died about 4 years ago, its be a hassle just getting the paperwork done since he have no will and my lawyer pretty much screwed me. Now that I’ve finally get it all done, I stipulation to start cleaning up his property but I don’t know where to even start. I don’t enjoy money just lying around to hire someone to come within and clean it out, does anyone know any cheaper tips? I will taking past its sell-by date a week this summer and renting a large dumpster, and that will cost tons alone.
Another concern is the actual home on the property, its really not fit to be livable, how would I dance about getting it any cleaned up or torn down. I hate to see it step because I grew up visiting my dad near, and he built a lot of it up himself (using pieces of other homes to start him off). But know in that is mold, and the ceilings hold been leak. Oiy, I just don’t know where on earth to start….

Answers: Yeah, looks like it might be a worthy idea to lately tear that down. Try to not throw everything away as aluminum is ecological and you can get some big money for that stuff. (In california, aluminum saloon rims sell at the recycler for in the region of 25 to 40 bucks per rim.) Be careful on what you merely throw away as by just looking at the picture, in attendance looks to be at least several hundred dollars of "junk" basically lying around. Scrap steel prices are at least a couple hundred dollars per ton if you budge to the right places. (that old second-hand goods car) Hauling that stuff to the right people is your biggest concern though.
put an commercial on craiglist in your local nouns for free firewood and free scrap metal. Scrap metal values are enormously high right in a minute. You will find people interested within both these and you may get family to haul some of this away for you.
What is the proverb, one mans second-hand goods is another mans treasure?
My suggestion would be to either contact and auctioneer and work a do business with him that would benefit you both, as race will always bid on anything and you hold some interesting things there on your property or another would be to notify your local boy scouts and see if they can lend you a mitt in the cleaning process and donate anything put a bet on to them that they may need.Good Luck. 1st item I would do is separate anything that is saleable from trash.
Hold a patio sale and you may win at least as much as it would cost to heave it off. That's a plus.
If within is a dump site nearby, rent a trailer and hitch for your saloon or truck. Haul it off.
Otherwise hire some individual near a truck. Might be cheaper than a dumpster. Check it out.
Clean up any yard leftovers and try to burn it, if you are permitted. Otherwise haul it bad.
If you plan on selling the property, see what you can get near the home as is. Check out a teardown price. And price accordingly.
You hold your work cut out for you.
Oh my...you have your hand full. I would avoid letting the authorities know about adjectives of this...they may make you pay cheque to have it cleaned up. Code violation and all of that. I agree next to the suggestion to contact an auctioneer or someone who specializes in estate sale. They will know what to do.
Good luck. Sorry about your dad. When my sister and I have to clean out my mom's house, we get the dumpster. Shop around for the cheapest price. I think we salaried $300 for a week, including drop-off and pickup. I think your best bet would be to walk through everything first. Throw out the garbage, put aside anything you want to keep hold of and put the rest in a Dutch auction pile. You could either enjoy a garage sale or resembling someone else said put an ad for speck metal, etc. It will make more sense once everything is separated into "piles."
As far as the house go, I would ask a real estate agent to find out in the region of the market contained by your area (would it be worth it to fix it up?). Also, find out how much to cleave it down. I would start with the dumpster company, I don`t know they could recommend someone who does demolition. Then the question become how much and how quickly can any of these be done? Sorry, I can't help much more than that. Best of luck to you!
If the household produce and furniture are usable, call local charities and relate them they can haul away anything movable they want for free.
Then give the name a scrap metal place and update them they can have the house trailer for free.
