Question roughly speaking evil renting?

I was renting a garage that have a stove in it and considered necessary to know if that's illegal ( to rent out surrounded by california)? I am asking because the landlord we have has given us a frozen time ever since we told her we we're moving out and now she doesn't want to grant us our deposit ($800.00) when we left everything verbs (took pictures to prove) nothing be broken, even had the hearth rug cleaned. she's telling us she requirements us to paint the inside of house but it wasn't even painted when we 1st moved in and there's no source to paint it ( no holes in wall or anything). she's be doing stuff illegally so i want to report her to department of housing. But i want to know if a stove is illegitimate in a garage? appreciation for your answers

Answers:    She's trying to find excuses to keep your money. A lot of landlords do that and it's against the directive. The rag is trying to screw you over. Report her and cart her to court.

Go to Nolo.com to review tenant law within your state. Put the law together and where on earth she's violated it, and you're sure to prevail in court.
In most California jurisdiction, it is illegal to use a garage as a housing section. You want to see how much off-street parking is required/available at the location.

I would certainly lug her to court. If she did not provide an itemized explanation of the use of your deposit within 20 days of your move-out, you are entitled to the ENTIRE deposit rear, plus court costs, regardless of any damage you may own caused.

Take your evidence to court next to you. I would file presently, and serve her quickly. If she can't clear the judgment, you can place a lien on her home. Ask the court or an attorney how to do that, if it become necessary.

Good luck!
Yes she is doing entity to illegal walk ahead and call the department of housing. You can put anything you want as long as it is done according to risk-free practices. If it is hooked up in a agency that does not jeopardize your safety or condition and is not prone to fires etc. then I don't know that in attendance is anything wrong with it. Is the stove surrounded by the garage the only stove you use? Do you rent individual the garage? Why isn't the stove in the kitchen? What does your lease say-so? Does it say the stove is surrounded by the garage and you have the resort of not renting here if you don't want a home with a stove within the garage. The lease should state that you have to do specific things prior to moving out. Usually explicitly cleaning and repairing holes if you put them there or if you made any grades on the walls. If the paint is pretty much the same as it be when you moved in later tell her your not going to paint, share her you took pictures for proof. If she is an old hag describe he the stove in the garage is iffy (even if it isn't) and tell her you will pick up your deposit on ____ date at ___ time at ___ location and if she does not turn over the money you will phone up the police to file a report and give somebody a lift her to small claims court. Usually if you scare those a little they find the trouble is not worth it and impart in. Not that I would do that type of point for just any aim.
Why is it illegal to rent a garage? A stove would hold you warm as you worked on your motor. As long as it's vented properly it should be ok.

Why do relations live in places for years and afterwards when they move out try to prove what a dump it was and how the hotelier was a monster from daylight one? This is not ammo for a deposit issue. The law is clear and you merely need ammo on that point.

As far as the deposit she must present you a detailed accounting of the disposition of the fund within 30 (sometimes fewer) days. Just smoothly move out and wait for the factor to expire and then embezzle her to court.

By the way, the true ammo along beside before and after pics surrounded by a deposit issue is: www.buyincomeproperties.com / html / RentalMoveInOutChkLst2.html
