Is it legalized to charge me an extra afternoon?
I live in CA and just this minute moved out of an apartment. My notice say my last year was the 1st, but, I didn't return the key until the next morning since the organization closed before I could return the push button the day of my move-out. Can they rightfully charge me an extra days' rent?Answers: Sure they can, you are responsible to return the key and did not.
I doubt they will bother beside this, but legally they enjoy the right to.
Hi,
Technically, you have until midnight of the ultimate day you remunerated rent, - as long as you gave proper discern, so you'll probably be okay, especially since you couldn't return the keys until the bureau was subsequent open.
I'm an apartment representative of a 26 unit building within CA.
If you're having trouble on this issue, you may want to agree to the manager/owner know the above. You can always bring them to small claims court if necessary. If you win, you'll return with your costs back for file the claim, too.
You can get a free brochure on your rights from your county small claims court. Another great resource is the Nolo.com website for renter's rights. Also, you can G00GLE "do housing" for your county and get lots of free info.
Unfortunately, profusely of landlords take deduction from deposits they're not legally entitled to. I hold helped my daughter prepare lawsuits surrounded by small claims courts against landlords who deducted more than they should own from her security deposit and we won every time. Learn the canon and if you feel you've be ripped off, nick them to small claims court. If the law is on your side, you'll win, including your court costs.
Best of luck!
They could charge you another light of day rent but doubtful if they will. Even though you had till midnight that same year. The odds of them charging you for rent is small compared to what they will charge you. They enjoy 21 days to return your deposit in. Check it out when you receive the deposit money and see what they enjoy charged you. Always remember a phone call could solve oodles arguments.
In Texas, can someone prepay an apartment lease to avoid have a duty?
I'm looking at apartments and I don't work. I'm a fulltime student with financial aid. I hold enough change to prepay a six month lease. My question is, would an apartment complex consent to me move in if I prepay the lease, minus having a opening? Isn't the credit check to determine if I can afford the apartment - does that even matter if I recompense the entire lease?I especially would love to hear from someone who works for an apartment complex leasing office or have heard of this. Thanks contained by advance.
Answers: We did this lots of times contained by York, PA. The property was 2 blocks from York College.
We be fortunate enough to own the college's baseball team coach call for about the property we be renting.
We had a tryst and 3 baseball players were special to rent the property. We ran them through the usual credit investigations and verifications w/o any problem.
At the time the lease be reviewed and signed, the parents asked if they could pay the year's rent and warranty deposit - together with the per morning rent charge [the adjustment] in mortgage.
I agreed.
From that time on - for almost 4 years - every member of the baseball squad paid the entire rent and other related costs, contained by advance.
For the most element, the young men be well-behaved and kept very honest care of the property - according to the jargon of the lease.
My suggestion: Ask those landlords and agents about your concern.
In the investment group I belonged to, one of the Landlords would automatically discount the lease by 5% for payin the full lease possession and all related costs surrounded by advance. You could ask more or less this, too. The WORST answer you will get is "No". Other than surrounded by love and romance, "No" never hurt any one, did it?
Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it!

Yes, to be exact my real concluding name!
Most, but for all, will not adopt a prepaid lease.
It limits the apartment building from evicting you within case nearby is a problem. You need some income, or verifiable funds to be capable of pay. You may also entail someone to cosign for you.
The credit check is done for several reasons. They want to know if you are competent to afford the rent, you have cynical history on your credit, you have no felony convictions, etc, etc, etc.
I hold seen some apartment offering discount when you pre-pay. I would strongly support AGAINST doing it though. You always hold the leverage on your side when they want your money, not when they already have your money.
My push for to you is to find several prospective apartments and go make conversation to the management. There is no tenet governing this type of things, so it is entirely up to the management of the apartment.
Im moving out of my house!?
right now im penetrating.. waht do i need to do.. and what do i involve to know when i go call round the aprtment and what notAnswers: Sit down and think of adjectives the things that would make a difference within your choice of an apartment. I have a dog so I have to make sure in the past asking anything else if the apartment would allow animals. Number one is always how much rent is and what utilities are included/not included. It's other good to find places that include utilities esp. if you know that your electricity bill or boil bill would be high. It's also correct to ask what is located around the apartments for your convenience (ie. grocery stores, gas stations, post office, malls). When you find a place you close to and decide to rob it, always look over the entire place too for damages from the previous renters so that you aren't held liable when you move out for that mischief you didn't even do.
I hope this somewhat helped. Good luck! =]
1- if the apartment is within good condition
2-if adjectives the appliences work fine
3-if u having running wet
4-if ur running water go hot as well
5-and if in that isnt any heating problems
Find a place explicitly reasonable and if they foot the utilities. When you go to look at an apartment net sure it has the amount of space you are looking for, but not one which will cost you an arm, leg and your first born.
Make sure the manager spells everything out in black and white. You want to create sure there are no invisible costs should you decide to move out in the past the lease is up.
If the place is furnished or not. How much furniture will you need to put within it.
When apartments list as furnished it finances stove and refrigerator, not bedroom and livingroom furniture.
When you are apartment hunting, the people you will be living near will be a big thing. Look for any hints that the paperwork will listen to your needs. Bring up concerns and manufacture sure they address them. Is there assigned or ample parking? Is it powerfully lit? Is it kept well-maintained and clean?
Who pays utilities? Most apartments I've lived contained by include water/garbage in the rent, but not adjectives do. Ask about the safekeeping of the community, and listen to how they respond. Laundry facilities...do they hold them in the part? supply laundromats? if they have laundromats, are they immediate? do there come across to be enough washers and dryers?
Don't sign anything on your first stop by. Make sure you ask about any discounts. Make sure you're clear on anything fees you will be paying. Be sure to visit several apartment complexes. Be picky!
Make sure you know how much you can afford beforehand you go. That will backing. Remember that you are the customer, the management should be catering to you. If they don't treat you wonderfully, give up.
If its your first time out of home you have to be aware that it's goign to cost alot. Find share accomodation - that course you share all your bills and commonly food aswell.
Always ask potential tennents
1) Do you drink / take drugs?
2) How are bills divided?
3) Do their partner stay over / what if yours does?
4) How is cleaning divided?
5) Do they often own parties / can you?
Also - if you find someone that go away alot this is always a polite thing.

Know how much you want to spend for rent.
Do you want to live upstairs or downstairs?
Do you want assigned parking or parking on the streets or is in attendance enough parking?
What is the apartment complex approaching? Do people use their porch as a garage? Is the apartment across from you Party Central 24/7? Are the managers meth addict?
Then once you have set you verbs one the apartment complex, go thru and manufacture sure everything works in the apartment and that in that is no burn marks on the hearth rug or linoleum.
Good luck!!
