Should we use a credit repair company through a mortgage company?

I called a mortgage company today and found out my hubby's credit is 523 and mine is 499. We are looking at buying contained by about a year and the guy recommended we going through a women surrounded by there department to clean up our credit.So we could gain our scores(or atleast his up to 580)

using 'credit repair companies' does not repair ur credit !! u repair ur credit buy PAYING ur bills or settling them.
CRC usage put ur credit as have filed 'bankruptcy' for subsequent 7yrs.
u will not find anything available except ripp off loan companies.
bleak credit (for what ever reason) is not what u want to go house hunting. save renting and learn to own ur money b4 becoming a slave to it.

It is a scam. Real mortgage companies do not get involved next to this.

You should get your score again from someone reputable. The odds are suitable that they gave you false information contained by their efforts to rip you rotten.
