I think you are self too paranoid.
They could care smaller amount of what is in your closet, drawers, cabinet, etc. It is an apartment, not a dorm room, and they aren't going to be touching things like that anyway.
They are a moment ago going to check the electrical, plumbing, check for any leaks, potential problems that want to be fixed, and OVERALL condition of the apartment.
They will be in and out of in that in probably smaller quantity than 10 minutes.
They are NOT required to fix an appointment on a specific day.what they enjoy given you is notice ample. It is YOUR CHOICE to be there...and they are not required to stir overboard to accomodate it.
Pick your battles...this isn't one of them.
