Hi Folks - I was supposed to move into a current flat on 2nd Feb - prior to this date I gave the agent a lb300 holding deposit - of which i dont infer was signed as received. I also prior to the date give a further lb500 towards the deposit needed. On the 4th Feb I announced that I could now not move within as I couldnt get the rest of the funds. I reflect I did sign a tenancy agreement tho. Is she entitled to adjectives the lb800 regardless of me now not moving surrounded by at all.gratefulness,
Answers: I think the answer is yes - I know you don't want to hear that but looking at it from the perspective of the letting agency revenue have been lost the agent's client.
Sorry roughly your loss. It's a lot of money to lose and I would suggest you see the CAB. Its a free service. If they don't hold the answer they can put you in contact beside a competent solicitor. Read the fine print first though on any agreement you signed.
Hope things work out for you. I'd be devastated if I lost that amount of money.

Usually, the holding deposit is non-refundable unless it was the letting agents who said you couldn't move surrounded by. If you couldn't find the rest of the cash later you'll usually have to pass up the money.

Normally a deposit payment is refundable however when signing a possession agreement you would normally reward 1 months rent up front which is non-refunadable. It all depends on what have been signed.
