Can someone sell a house on E-Bay?

Answers: Yes, I suppose they could, but you would have to be a real sucker to actually BUY a house off of Ebay. That site has such a high rate of identity theft.. I wouldn't even buy a $10 item off of Ebay if it were me. Best Wishes.
yeah thats so such a good question
my mom bought her car on ebay. and we actually use it !

:0] hope this helps

ps u get a star for a interesting question :0)
Yes, you can even sell a whole town.

As I understand it you can do that but it's more like advertising because the sale isn't legally binding. They buyer can still ask for a home inspection and I think that there are legal and easy ways for the buyer to back out. The home will also still have to go through escrow and all those formalities.

I'm sure that eBay has a detailed section on the rules pertaining to this. I'd suggest going over it with a real estate lawyer before marketing your home in this way.
You can, but the fees are really high.

OMG the answers here many of them are completely uninformed. I have sold over 200 tracts of land and homes over the last 2 years on ebay. Lets say this the cost isn't high compares to paying a realtor 6% list fee. For under 175 dollars you can sell the home with plenty of pictures and information. Try to get a realtor to sell a home for 200 dollars lol ya right.
I will agree with one comment in many states its not a legal contract and may be more of advertisement.
I don't care cause if they agree to buy they will if they want the product or home. If they don't buy I will report them to EBay for not following through auction and I will simply rerun auction.
Ebay has gotten better and the fraud is easily able to be ferreted out from transactions by doing the proper research on the seller and buyer of the product. the sellers have a rating if they haven't sold at least 100 items and don't have a better then 98% rating I would be careful about doing business with them. If they call you and actually seem legit I will often let them bid on the item. I put my standards in auction to any bidders so they can see what I expect from them as buyers.
Real estate is hard to steal cause it takes time to do deed work and the funds will clear long before they take title! So don't worry about the bad money orders. If you get one the transaction is off and you report them to ebay and you are only out the 15 dollar check return fee. then offer the deal to the next bidder down the list that participated in the auction.
That all said Ebay brings out the low ball bidders and people looking for bargains. so that being said unless you have a empty land lot or a junker house to sell I would take it to market the conventional way with a realtor or for sale by owner in these local magazines you see or ect.
You protect yourself from fraud by doing business with people in this country! I want to see a contract and an total payment using pay pal or a reputable money source that clears my bank before any deed work is done. Thats the way it is if the buyer doesn't like it next buyer. Its your property your auction rules. If someone bids and doesn't buy you can give them a poor rating using EBay feature for that.
There are some good books out there on how to use ebay.
You might consider reading one.
I generally give the buyer 24 to 48 hours to wire me money for the transaction I am selling. If they don't i email the next lowest bidder. i never fool around waiting for people to get funds in place. That way you wont waste the auction you ran on the property. It gets sold no matter what. Ebay also has an advertisement place for property as well. They have an auction spot and a advertising.
I never worry about dead beat bidders i just ban them from my future auctions. Ebay has been a great place for me. This year I bought home that was 2600 sqft 5 bedrooms for $5300 dollars. I put $8000 into it and am getting $1000 a month rent for it! I bid when others were afraid to so i got the deal. This home I bought in June of 2007 is worth 64k according to the tax assessor. It would probably appraise at 70k.
The bottom line is there is fat cash on EBay its just getting to understand EBay. You must understand how it works to stop from being taken by a fraudulent player. The players that have hundreds and thousands of transactions these guys aren't the ones that are going to screw you. they have a reputation to uphold. Its a person with an account that never made a sale or purchase that will get you!
That all said as anything caveat emptor!! I entered into EBaying slowly buying small items to learn about it.
One of my 3 businesses I do is buy land at tax deed sales and lien sales from the government from those that don't pay property taxes then sell on EBay.
Get proof of funds before title work is complete when you sell on EBay. Be honest on EBay it will get you much farther.
I hope this helps a little there is a lot to this nitch of business that I couldn't hardly fit in this answer as it would have been a book. Internet is finally beginning to explode almost 15 years after its start. We have a long ways to go this is just the ground floor! Dont get left out! Good luck
Sure, if you can find a buyer bold enough to purchase a home he hasn't been to see.
