Real Estate Agents commission? Someone told me 7% be average...but my grill is?
Lets say the house is for mart for $100,000, and you are a real estate agent that finds the buyer. Then how does the commission work, who pays it and when and how? Does the encyclopaedia agent and the buyers agent split the 7%?
Basically any insight you can give to this topic would be great.
Answers: 7% is a commonplace commission for a full-service agent. A difference of 1% in commission translates to more or less a 30% reduction within your agent’s pay. I don’t know give or take a few you, but I wouldn’t work as hard if asked to bring a 30% pay cut.
Sales price 100,000, 7% commission
3.5% = 3,500 to respectively side of the deal
Each agent will enjoy to split that with their broker. Let’s read aloud it’s an 80/20 split for each side.
Listing agent - $2,800
Listing broker - $700
Selling agent - $2,800
Selling broker - $700
7% is glorious around here. It is 6% or lower, depending on what you can negotiate.
The seller pays the full commission. The agents split the commission.
6% is the norm for most areas (but the Realtor Association technically forbids Realtors from in fact SAYING that), however, in some market, where the open market is doing well, terrifically experienced agents can command a 7% commission.
