Building a current home?

i currently live in a small home. we have bought our house less than a year ago. we want to bring rid of this house and build a nicer larger home. we can not add on to this house. i am wondering roughly speaking our home loan and how it all works near a new house. we in a minute owe $85,000 on our house now. so we want to build a investigational house, do we get another home loan to modernize and pay 2 loans? do we bring back another loan and combine the 2 loans? does the bank reappraise after building the different house and we pay what it appraises for? and any other answers you can regard of that i may not know the qestion to ask would be helpful.
