The problem most 18 year olds have is obtain a mortgage as w/o a college education their retribution is low, and they have no established credit rating.
We do clear mortgage loans to people lower than 21 but generally speaking you are going to involve a co-borrower with credit, income, assets, living stability, related college education etc. My youngest client ever have been 20 years prehistoric and he did qualify on his own. The answer is "yes you may" but whether you "can" is a different story.
