Renting Real Estate Questions and Answers

If someone owns a piece of land, do they own it all the way to the center of the earth?

Answers: i don't know the answer put that's a good answer.. but out the back i would thin not..But what if you own property and underneath theirs oil.. are you the legal owner of it and should be able to do what you want with it? HOw about that for a question..lol
The property I own is on an aquifer from which the city draws its water. There is also a company drilling for natural gas which would be drawn from under a lot of properties. Those companies do not need my permission.

If you have a water well on your property, it would draw water from a larger area than just your property.
No, you don't. However you control access to what's underneath. You also do not own any water that is under your land. If you own water rights, you are allowed to pump the volume you own out of the ground, but no more.

If you own mineral rights (not likely in most states), you own the minerals that run under your land.
thanks for the giggles.
NOPE.
most countries states counties cities own the earth under your property.
look at your county deed . mineral , water gas oil rights are often not included in your land.
No, the norm is fifteen feet down from the topsoil.

Mineral rights and gas/oil rights/ water rights/ air rights have already been sold off (85% of the time) and there is a recording of it in your local government's records. But hey, check, perhaps they haven't been sold and this is something that you can sell of at a nominal value, who knows?

If the company that holds my mortgage declares bankruptcy, what will happen to my mortgage?

Answers: The notes simply get bought up by another company.

You will receive notice of where to mail the payments, although the old address and company name will work for several months, they simply forward your money on.
Stop Paying ! The house is yours! Free House ! No more payments !

Just Kidding.

Every few months mortgage brokers and banks bundle together mortgages of similar risk levels and sell them off to investors or the government. (the government buys only the best and most reliable debt through Ginnie Mae and Freddie mac programs.) Other, higher risk mortgages are sold to investors on wall street as bundled finance investments. Since many of those are the ARMS and balloon mortgages or int rest only that you see in the news wall street companies are feeling the brunt of this problem as more and more people default on paying their loans.

Hopefully you have a 30 year fixed which has already been re-purchased, but from experience It sounds like the company that you were using may have been pushing "shakier" and higher risk products, which you may have bought into.
